I can max out Witcher 3@1440p 55fps G-Sync ready for the most crisp experience possible.
But let me put some things into perspective. The Witcher 3 and other games like Metro Exodus are among the best looking games ever made. That is great, but expected considering the raw compute power of PC's
But now look at The Last of Us Part II. A game running on a PS4@1080p 30fps and looking that the way it does. Its ridiculous; as a matter of fact its one of the best looking games ever made. And this is all on this peasant system.
So yes, how the heck can I not be excited about the PS5 and its proposition to push new, evolved experiences. You guys can foolishly oversee those who are constantly pushing gaming to the next level. I for one will be present to see and enjoy everything the next gen consoles has to offer.
If you haven't a clue about what the new SSD tech does go watch the PS5 deepdive with Mark Cerny. It might give you an idea.
@bdrtfm: YOU would gladly add "a few seconds" of loading because that is what you've come to accept since the advent of elevators and wall gap passes. You are already use to it and could care less about it being removed entirely. But more than that you haven't experience a game without it so you lack an understanding for what it could mean as a new experience. You wont understand it until you play it.
Ill leave it at that, you don't understand it and you wont until you experience it.
Sure a few games will be on the PS5 initially... isn't that always the case with launch system? What are you even trying to argue here? How could you not be excited for this new tech that's not even on the PC yet. How could you not be excited with the possibilities granted to great devs like Capcom, Fromsoftware, Rockstar Games, Naughty Dog, or any number of great first party developers. Like how near sighted are we being here.
This is just the beginning and here you are downplaying it so hard. You don't understand this is not even a thing for PC games because PC game developers have to develop games across different tiers of PC's. This is not the case for the PS5. Not only is the PS5 close to a medium spec PC in terms of power, but it has tech the PC has yet seen. This tech will be exclusive to this generation of consoles and you will see games that look and play better on the new consoles than PC. This coming from a PC guy.
Actually I didn't, Cottonfly said "might as well call it Dark Souls 4" Which is also pretty ridiculous.
But yes the game is probably decent considering its a new studio developing it. What I don't appreciate is the blatant copy and paste. Anyways you are allowed to try what you like. Just proceed with caution I suppose.
@sty1e_bender: Looks decent? I suggest you put on your glasses and have a closer look. No really.... just look at the world detail, the character and monster animation. This game is barely worth the comparison as it pales to the game it tries to replicate.
This game will fall flat on its as* upon release. Rest assured.
"Our own lives and stories are too often simple echo chambers of what we think is right or valuable and it becomes nearly impossible to find worth in the other side. Most of the negative reviews I've read actually make the point even more acute."
Very true! Your post along with the article were definitely good reads. Thank you!
