I don't really like the KZ games. But geeze Gears was so boring.

[QUOTE="emphaticleech"]Then why in the hell does Return to Zork always freeze and crash on my Windows 7 when I try to put it fullscreen? foxhound_foxAre you running in compatibility mode, or are you using DOSBox?
I tried both ways. Still freezes when I go fullscreen. BC my ass.
@frostybanana:
I agree, but you can't look at Zelda games like the Oracle games or WW or TP and say that they were JUST like the old ones rehashed. Sure the basic outline and structure is the same. Save the princess and the kingdom from the evil man. But, really... that's kinda what all fantasy games are modeled after. That Vigil-esque component. Sure, the names are rehashed. But the spirit of the stories and mythologies are completely different.
"We thank you for your patience as we complete our investigation of
this incident, and we regret any inconvenience."
That's, basically... a simple apology. You want them to kiss your scrotum, too?

Sony will never recover from this. Its stupid that some fanboys will still try and defend Sony after all of this.
Sledgehammer117
You make it sound like it's Sony's fault that this happened... oh yeah Sony's to blame, right?? Talking about fanboys :roll:
No its not there fault,but Sony should have given warnings as soon as they thought our accounts were at risk. Instead they wait six days to tell us and all it takes is one day for a hacker to get your personal information and credit card details. The fact of the matter is that Sony dropped the ball big time and if you try to defend Sony after all of this then it is clear that you are a 12 year old who doesn't get how serious this is because itsMom or Pops credit card at risk.
Sorry, but..
If you're on a network that gets hacked. You should be fully aware that you could be at risk. Sony's not your mommy. They shouldn't HAVE to tell you something like that. They haven't said everyone's at risk, anyway. They just suggested that everyone should change their passwords JUST IN CASE. Boo hoo. They got hacked and people got info stolen. It's not like this stuff doesn't happen almost everyday out of the year everywhere else.
I DEFINITELY get what you're saying though, Dragonfire. As I said before... takes different strokes to move the world. Agree to disagree? I loved Fallout 3 and the previous games (Hell, I remember buying the game when it first came out... Interplay could've been the next biggest thing). I respect the fact you didn't think much of F3 and you made some great points.

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] Fallout 3 was plagued with a lot of the same things that existed in Oblivion. Psychic guards Bad AI Poor graphics(Oblivion had good graphics on release, Fallout 3 did not) Poor dialogue Shallow story with uninteresting and silly side quests(wannabe superheroes and kids in a cave?) Worthless dungeons with barely any unique loot available And a few more I'm sure... The only good thing about Fallout 3 was that it was very moddable and people created many great mods for it that made it a decent game, just like Oblivion.DragonfireXZ95
Psychic guards? Having bad luck taking slaves from Rivet City or something? ;)
Graphics =/= good game.
How is the story shallow, though? I hear people didn't like the story, then again most people I know that say that don't care for story in their games anyway. It's very much an open ended game (as long as you get the expansion which continues the exploits of the wasteland wanderer) and doesn't need much of a huge story to carry it because you make your own story. Which I like.
What dungeons? Also, you have to remember... it's a post-apocalyptic world. Anything "unique" you find will be anything that still has all its fingers and toes. It's just realistic (to an extent) is all. And there's plenty of unique things you can make if you find the schematics and such. Right now, I'm having loads of fun with the flaming sword you make out of a motorcyle gas tank, lawnmower blade, pilot light and a thing or two else.
I don't think the Slavers or the Oasis or the Tenpenny side quests are silly at all. The Oasis is a very fun one, which.. in my opinion, is a great look at existentialism and the religious nature of man. It reminded me of Monty Python's Life of Brian when the people were following Brian thinking he was the messiah ("And I should know, I've followed a few!"). And the biting satire of Liberty Prime? "Die you communist scum!" ...makes me laugh everytime.
The AI? Well I can't really argue with that. Other than the companions you can hire/get to follow you.. the AI is a little sketchy.
My point is, because you didn't like Fallout 3 doesn't make it a bad game. Takes different strokes to move the world. Oh and the Mothership Zeta expansion is so cool.
By Psychic guards, I mean doing something without being seen like lock picking and being detected sometimes.
Of course graphics doesn't equal a good game, but this engine is old as hell and looks like it. The could have at least upped the textures or something on the PC version instead of having to rely on the modding community for mods.
Everywhere you go, you see the same thing. How many swords with gas tanks exist and why are there so many of the same ones? The unique weapons were boring and they were just more poweful versions of the same thing just with a different unique name. That doesn't make them unique.
I think maybe your humor is just very droll. :P in a Post-apolalyptic wasteland it's fine to have some silly humor, but the humor in Fallout 3 was not appropriate for the setting. Super hero wannabes? Really? Telling a kid he has a stupid name? That's not funny. The writing was not good, no matter how much you want to defend it.
Wasn't Mothership Zeta the worst one? That's the only one I didn't play, but that's what I heard.
Ah. Gotcha. Can't say I ever had that problem. I've picked locks with Guards around the corner and they didn't notice as long as they weren't looking at me.
I guess you're right about the textures.. I have it on PS3 so I don't really have an option to change the graphics regardless. I'm thinking they kept it like that so people COULD mod it without needing epic programs to compete with the graphics. It's kinda the same idea behind Minecraft.
And I dunno about seeing the same thing everywhere. I, maybe, saw a flaming sword twice before making mine. And the slave gun? Woo that thing is cool. Again, it's a post-apocalyptic wasteland. How many unique items do you think you can find that haven't been obliterated, or worse?
My humor may be droll. But I may also just get the biting satire. :P And sure.. telling a kid he has a stupid name is not very funny. But I didn't think it was intended to be. And I thought the storyline with the Ghouls (if you turned against Tenpenny) was a beautifully written scenario.
And I never heard that. I thought Operation Anchorage was the weakest one. MZ ...there's just something satisfying about bashing an Alien's skull in with its own stun rod.
Gaming armageddon? Am I really the only person that plays PC games online... or god forbid... single player games anymore?

Killzone.
And to the guy who said Gears because it has a chainsaw. So does Doom. \m/ But in all actuality, everyone knows Quake destroys every other FPS. Except for Doom and Hexen.
balfe1990
Doom doesn't have a chainsaw on a gun though.
I can't think of a more useless thing to attach to a gun. Seriously. Especially since you can't shoot the gun at the same time. And the Marine in Doom doesn't need a gun to hold the chainsaw because he's a real man.
