This type of news raises a number of red flags about the developer. It sounds great to the consumer, but 1. weekly patches aren't a sustainable process and 2. Why didn't the game work properly to begin with. Sounds like either laziness or poor QA.
You invest in a story. I'll invest in some numbers. Kickstarter can be good for some things. Investing in games ... people deserve to lose their money.
If you've taken an intro finance class or done a Junior Achievement day, watching people invest in games via Kickstarter is mind boggling.
