Well it's not like Nintendo even could, what with 512mb of internal storage. Nintendo kept BC because there was no compelling reason not to -- the Gamecube was already basically dead, internal storage wasn't large enough to allow downloadable GC games, and it uses the same hardware so they didn't have to do any work.[QUOTE="eyebrows"]Dude I know how it works...the point of the post was, MS and Sony have got greedy and more lazy than ever and the current state of BC shows that. I just wanted to know if we'd ever see it again...emulating really isn't hard, especially for multi-billion dollar corporations such as Sony and MS...they just don't want to as they want to milk every dime they can. Yes that's business but look at the Wii, they haven't taken the GC feature out when they know they could EASILY charge people $10 to even $25 for classic GC games such as Luigi's Mansion, Rogue Squadron 2, Pikmin, Mario Kart, Mario Sunshine, Smash Bros etc...they haven't because in that sense they know it would be beyond a joke. Now to count the different versions of the DS...SakusEnvoy
I mean, if anything, what Microsoft and Sony did was more impressive and certainly more costly. Sony took a big hit on initial PS3 production costs to include Emotion and the Graphics Synthesizer. Microsoft had to write an emulator from scratch and create a team to constantly improve the list of compatible games.
I agree with the first part, what I didn't like was that the consumer should always get more value for their money...I don't think there's a console in history that during its lifecycle has more features removed than the PS3 and I'm not just talking about BC.
