What the first poster said was a mess. It's simple: When you lock on, all it does is center the camera on the enemy. (allowing you to strafe, etc.) You still have to aim in order to hit the enemy.

Arcanister_21

r u talking about what i wrote? cause what i wrote is correct, u r talking about advance mode right now, dont even say what i said was wrong when u dont even know half as much as me, i wont say anything bad though:D

I never said what you wrote was wrong. I said it was a mess. I like how you think you're some insider that knows more info than everyone else, it's really mature.

oh, u mean it was too much info becasue of the turning stuff? well,, it kinda was, srry for the misunderstanding:D

Hey come on that guy disrespected you! Kick 'im in the balls!

Joking of course. Nice to see someone being mature enough not to get into a pointless argument on the internet. Kudos to you! =)

agreed.

[QUOTE="Projekt_Enigma"]My friends and I have fought over this on countless occasions, and i firmly believe Morrowind is a better game considering the sheer size of the world.. Instantaneous travel to cities abroad in Oblivion just kills the real sense of adventure i experienced from Morrowind since there was such a massive land mass to trend without the effortless quick travel Oblivion features. XaosII

I really don't understand why people bring up fast travel as a weakness...Don't use it.There problem solved..it's an EXTRA for those who wish to use it.IF you are so weak and pathetic that you can't keep yourself from doing it then get a mod that takes it off....which i don't even understand the logic of the person who makes one considering that if a person is too weak to ignore the use of fast travel what makes you think they'll go download a mod to stop it...

It is a weakness though. Not the actual feature - that i dont care about - its how the developers worked the map around with it. The continent Oblivion takes place in, while larger, is much more plain. Very little in the way of unique/interesting terrain. Morrowind, on ther other hand, since it relied so much on foot travelling, the developers focused much more on making the terrain much more unique to prevent the game from being so monotonous.

I was specifically meaning the feature. I can however see how you can come to the conclusion that it affected how they made the game. It's a good question to ask them although a straight answer would be unlikely UNLESS they make the next ES more varied because they will be willing to admit mistakes. Sort of like Halo.

This is from the official site:

Is Guild Wars an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)? Guild Wars has some similarities to existing MMORPGs, but it also has some key differences. Like existing MMOs, Guild Wars is played entirely online in a secure hosted environment. Thousands of players inhabit the same virtual world. Players can meet new friends in gathering places like towns and outposts where they form parties and go questing with them. Unlike many MMOs, when players form a party and embark upon a quest in Guild Wars, they get their own private copy of the area where the quest takes place. This design eliminates some of the frustrating gameplay elements commonly associated with MMOs, such as spawn camping, loot stealing, and standing in a queue in order to complete a quest. Guild Wars takes place in a large virtual world made up of many different zones, and players can walk from one end of the world to the other. In Guild Wars much of the tedium of traveling through the world has been eliminated. Players can instantly return to any safe area (town or outpost) that they have previously visited just by clicking on it in the world overview map.

Rather than labeling Guild Wars an MMORPG, we prefer to call it a CORPG (Competitive Online Role-Playing Game). Guild Wars was designed from the ground up to create the best possible competitive role-playing experience. Success in Guild Wars is always the result of player skill, not time spent playing or the size of one's guild. As characters progress, they acquire a diverse set of skills and items, enabling them to use new strategies in combat. Players can do battle in open arenas or compete in guild-vs-guild warfare or the international tournament. Engaging in combat is always the player's choice, however; there is no player-killing in cooperative areas of the world.

Players in Guild Wars can play with or against players from around the world in the global tournaments and arenas. And while players are initially placed in a region based on their selected language (so that there is a greater likelihood that others will be speaking their language) they can join up in the always-available International District to form parties and to play with anyone from anywhere in the world.

IMOI would call it CORPG but change the C to cooperative...

I could not get into that game for the life of me(morrowind). I tried like 5 times! I broke the cd so i wouldn't keep torturing myself. Some people think Oblivion is for retards since it holds your hand a little.I,personally don't wanna have to look for moss on the north side of the tree just to find the right town,i also do not want to read so much boring drivel just to know what i'm supposed to do. Keep in mind this is my opinion so don't dare try to tell me that i'm brain dead for wanting to PLAY a game and not work on it.

1. This is the software forum about PC Games. It is not about PC Hardware.

2. The reply, however, is totally wrong, but like I say, the question belonged iun the Hardware Forum, where the reespondents there may actually know what they are writng about.

[QUOTE="xMedHeadx"][QUOTE="f617682657"]Steam will make sure you do not lose anything if they go bankrupt.Period.gozalo

You have no way of knowing for certain what would happen if Valve went bankrupt. They might release a patch for Steam that releases us from our requirement to log on the Internet to install and/or play games, or they might not do anything different at all, leaving us with files that can't be activated. It's that doubt that makes me and others worried.

And how do you know your house wont burn down or a quake will destroy it and all your games?... Makes just as much sense being scared of those things as Valve going bankrupt and you losing your games, i don't worry about it.

When i said Period i meant it. They have already said that we would be fine in the case thatthey go bankrupt. Even IF...IF! they managed to go bankrupt think about the chances of it. Steam just keeps on growing and getting more games. They even get entire collections all of a sudden like the Eidos deals. You shouldn't give yourself a heart attack about this don't worry about it you'll be fine.

[QUOTE="Alkpaz"]

I have bought over 100 games off STEAM.. some repeat buys to replace my boxed versions.. Do all games work without problems.. I have only one game that is giving me problems.. CoD 1 w/ UO exp but so does the boxed version.. It maybe because I have a 8800 now.. when I bought the old game I had a Ti 4200 This has to be a driver issue and NOT a STEAM based issue.. Basically I get very low FPS .. to the 10-15 range.. UO is just down to 1-5 FPS.. which is what I would consider "unplayable" even turning down all the options to minimal doesn't resolve the issue.. Anyways.. besides that game no game has given me problems.

Do I support Digital Distribution? Hellz Yes! Do I plan on playing these games to the time I die? Yessum. Will I sue/ask for a refund, if the STEAM service stops completely? You becha!

zbiggie

i hope you understand if they get rid of steam, itll prob mean one of two things

either they lost so much money they cant support it anymore

or they are going bankrupt

either way they wont send you a hard copy, and you wont get your money back so youll be SOL, thats why i hate all of the D2D game sites, if they go out of buisness, how the hell do you get your money back, or a hard copy, hell WW3 is on the way and i want to be able to play my games but i wont be able to unless i can connect to the interent, LOL, but seriously think about it, if they offered a hard copy i would have no problem paying an extra 5$ for shipping but other wise ill get the few games that dont come out in this area that i really want but other then that i wont touch it

Steam will make sure you do not lose anything if they go bankrupt.Period.
