I'm going to assume you've got Directx installed so do this:

Click START
Click RUN
type in: DXDIAG
Click OK

That should bring up a dialog box with some system information. Under the GENERAL tab you will find your Processor and Memory. Under the DISPLAY tab it will say your graphics card and how much memory that has. Under SOUND it will give information on your sound card.

That should help you to understand your system specifications. If you don't feel confident trying that yourself maybe you have a friend who may be able to help you?

When it comes to Oblivion I would go with the PC version because of the mods that are available. You can even get a mod called Oldblivion that will run the game on lower spec systems, but certainly check your PC specs first.

...I want to try this game out but the mmorpg.com free trial always gives me an expired code. if you got a 7900gs you'd be able to play every game on the market at good settings, it would last you a while too. If you are willing to spend a bit more the 8800gts 320 will last you a few years and run anything now max and more in the future. Both are more than enough for BF2 too.

Well my birthday is soon and I have no clue what I want; useually something expensive I save up for awhile and someday buy it if I still want it, but for the most part Ive ran $5 games for months, $30 ones for years and there isnt much I do really but most of the time play online, occasionally go outside etc. So ill have to think about it; id get good use of it but if I buy it id need to think about it.

My parents tell me to be sure that its not the problem though before I buy one; sounds like im gonna have a chat with ea tommorrow to see if its the only option left.
