@sladakrobot: Never underestimate how stupid people can be, even now you can see companies conditioning people to own less and pay more, Netflix for example is a great deal but you don't own any of those movies and they can take them away anytime. Video games have been trying to move in a similar direction for a while and digital is just the Trojan horse.

@siarhei: Not to mention it's much simpler returning a bad or broken game you pre-ordered!

Of course EA is excited for an all digital future (more profit and price control), personally digital does not really appeal to me, I can't stand DRM/always online, waiting for downloads/updates etc. The day the video game industry goes exclusively digital will probably be the day I stop buying new games.
