do some research online, its interesting now because those old myths (or old facts I suppose) and their remedies can now actually harm the current generations of battery's current battery's are designed to not have to be fully discharged and then recharged and using them in that pattern can actually reduce their life
I don't much like the 40$ price point either, it has stopped me from trying a couple of titles so far that I would have tried out for 10$ less. what annoys me most is the used games at gamestop though, they are turning around and selling used at 5$ off of new yet only paying a pittance for them. The Clansy shadow wars game they wanted to give me 8$ for only to turn around and try and sell for 35$? That is just stupid... I'll take 10$ less cause its easier then posting and selling online, etc...but over 20$ less is ridiculous
i suspect when folks were sitting around the table trying to figure out what the next big thing was going to be for this handheld...it was around the time Avatar was 'wow'ing everyone with how amazing 3D was and every film maker was drooling at the idea of adding 3D to their movies. So the brain trusts around this table thought, what if the handheld had 3D and they all patted themselves on the back. years later 3D is still just a gimmick and developers have no clue how to use it as anything more then a gimmick, nor are producers willing to shell out the cash to invest in development effort into 'seeing' if 3d can effect gameplay to a great degree... the 3DS releases, there is a flat out terrible lineup and it takes months and months before interesting games start coming out and that is where we are :)
topic on smt:ds overlocked got me thinking I would love to have a 3DS xl, and I honestly don't care a wit if it didn't have a 3d slider and was permanently wedged off the increased resolution over the DS and more powerful innards are more then enough to hook me on a 3dsxl curious what others think
this ambassador program is a nice gesture but it really isn't 'costing' nintendo much aside from a fraction in lost revenue. Odds are the majority of people that will get the free games would never have paid for them in the first place. Whereas if they credited 80$ to everyone's accounts and we were free to buy 3rd party games they would actually be losing money. The only cost for them to provide these free games is the development effort to get them into place and the paltry network costs to transfer them to the devices...very minimal cost
i loved SMT: Strange Journey and am very much looking forward to this game. Its really the first 3DS game I am seriously looking forward to playing, as for getting the older DS version, if you have a 3ds it makes no sense to buy the older one imo...BEST case your saving a few bucks
