@Slash_out Because someone is playing competitively? It's the same reason why I think actual sports get the commentary treatment. Most, if not all of the time, they are a complete waste.
This is an article based on something you do not get. If you do not get it, then there's that little "x" icon on the top right corner. Use that mouse of yours and exit the site if you feel the need to belittle someone because you do not grasp a simple concept of playing video games competitively as a career. They are, essentially, no different than actual sports. It's just the perception that people feel is the norm, and esports is not the norm.
If they would stick with making the actual arcade game fully fleshed out, I would be interested (IE 8-bit characters, simplistic gameplay, etc). The game seems to be along the lines of Rampage (I kinda miss that series).
@eddieham13 Remember Nintendo? Motion controls was a huge risk considering Nintendo looked like it could fall apart for awhile there. Now look, both Microsoft AND Sony both have a motion control device added to their consoles.
Now it's this whole touch screen thing, thanks possibly to Apple and all those other touch screen devices (I'm not a fan of touch screen devices).
@vadicta Really? That's funny because I just got back from AN ART EXHIBIT and checked out a few ART MUSEUMS down in DC. I mainly play on my 360 (PC on the side). My favorite games are Okami, anything that Double Fine has created, and anything Suda51 has pumped out.
Aren't there an equal amount of shooters on PS3 anyways?
@Vastano @Utra @thribs @Blashbuck It's not a matter of how it ended to me, but why it ended the way it did. There are a lot of questions that I'd like to ask, some probably not until the next game (like where all civilization will go from there). Even if they did the whole Fallout 3 ending (IE brief shots here and there with explanations of the results of your actions). There are also a few points that just didn't make sense, even when they tried to explain it (Like the Illusive Man knowing full well what the Reapers were capable of).
@colt_a Yes, because Nintendo is the only console that does exclusives. Let's remove any chance of being a success by removing a key selling point. They would probably lose tons of money and have to fire staff because an entire division is lost, the very same division that creates the consoles, ideas, gadgets, etc.
By just popping out their big sellers, they would end up oversaturating the market to make ends meet. You think there are too many Mario games now, just imagine how many there would be in the future.
Then take into account how publishers work. Why take a risk when they could make millions on making Metroid into a Call of Duty clone, turn Mario into a hardcore killing machine with a reboot, and a whole number of changes that obviously do not really need to be made.
Evidence? Just look at gaming now? Everything is being catered to the majority whom want simple yet fun games. Compare Skyrim to Oblivion or even Morrowind and you will notice the difference in how easy it is to create characters. Compare Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2 (ME3 being the mmiddle man as it sort of has depth). Imagine a Dark Souls sequel that lacked character depth and not challenging at all?
This is the kind of thing that I would hate to see.
