Why IGN is garbage
by flameducky on Comments
3 reasons why IGN can suck it:
1. They'll do anything for page views. Right after IGN posted they're 9.6 out of 10 review of Mass Effect 2 they run to the polls and post, "Are you getting Mass Effect 2 or MAG?" This shows how desperate they are to get page views by starting flame wars. Another example is on Youtube. They're PS3 VS 360 "grudge match" videos are hotspots for fanboy flaming just so they can net the extra view count. Also, the woman who usually does they're daily fix is a porn star who doesn't know anything about video games.
2. They're LAZY! IGN made a list of the 25 best 360 games months ago and it took them almost 2 MONTHS to make a list for the PS3! Not to mention they have an Xbox Live page but no Playstation Network page! Also, they give us this "Xbox Live University" article which was very helpful but where's the Playstation/Wii university?? Exactly, IGN is LAZY.
3. Flame wars between editorials When one editor posts an editorial, another one has to rush in to try and "defend" the topic bashed by the other one! One example is when Matt Casamassina posted his Lazy Nintendo editorial on IGN, Michael Thomsen posted an article about the Appeal of Mario to help Nintendo fanboys forget that they're console is an outdated kiddy toy (Yes, I'm talking about the Wii). Matt Casamassina also posted an editorial about how Uncharted 2 can fix gaming. A couple weeks later, Epic Games must have seen the article and posted a pointless counter article about not regretting Gears of War's exclusivity. Even though the article was mainly about an analyst who thinks that Epic can't wait to go multiplatform, IGN was so desperate for page views they changed the title to lure fanboys who wanted to bask in the glow of the online lag fest known as Gears of War 2. Well, I'm going to go play Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time on my PS3. The bottom line of this blog is that IGN is garbage.

Why do I even bother?

I got moderated for the first time in over 6 month. Why you ask? Because Gamespot thinks Humor=Trolling! There were much worse comments on the Heavy Rain release date news post yet I'M THE ONE who got moderated!! If you wanna see trolling, take a look at SalarianChemist!
This site=Still garbage and always will be

I've decided that since I have such trouble getting back on schedule with my blogs, I'll do monthly blog instead of trying to gut it out every week. I rented PROTOTYPE and Modern Warfare 2 from Gamefly earlier this week. I'll be posting my full review of Modern Warfare 2 in early January. As for PROTOTYPE, well I'm not going to get into details but I will say this: It's fun to just run around and slash people into two with really big claws and there are lots of cool powers to mess around with but other than that PROTOTYPE is a mess. The mission structure is too simple and it can get repetitive really fast. I only played PROTOTYPE for about 3 hours before I mailed it back and went back to playing my runner-up for game of the year inFAMOUS (My overall game of the year was Uncharted 2). For Christmas I got a... *Drumroll*
A PSP 3000 and it's AWESOME! I copied all my PS3 music onto it so I'll be able to use it as an iPod. I also downloaded a bunch of demos including Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, Little Big Planet PSP, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The only thing I don't like about my new PSP is that the analog stick is too small for my thumb and it can be a bit stiff at times.
Happy New Year!!

*Sigh* MW2 sells big while Uncharted 2 barely sells at all
by flameducky on Comments
One of my biggest pet peeves has got to be overhyped games selling more than awesome games. The main reason this has hit me harder than usual is because of Modern Warfare 2 selling 4 million copies in 24 hours. Meanwhile Uncharted 2 struggles over the 1 million mark. Or maybe it's because the Call of Duty fanboys have already started to (Female dog) about sales on Youtube. To be honest, sales actually do have a big affect on how people receive a game. They think that if everyone else bought the game then it must be good enough that they should buy it too. Another example is when a long running series like Call of Duty or Halo gets to its peak and then the enormous fan base buys into the hype and buys the new game. That is why Halo 3 ODST sold so much. The Halo fanboys eat that kind of stuff up like a Fat Princess being fed cake (Fat Princess PSN game reference). Same goes for the Call of Duty fanboys. Here's a quick list of games that deserved to sell more:
· Juiced (PS2)
· Bully (PS2)
· Red Faction Guerrilla (PS3, 360, PC)
· Uncharted 2 (Deserves to sell way more than 1 million in one month)
· inFamous
· Saints Row 2 (PS3, 360, screw the PC version)
· WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2010 (PS3 and 360 versions, best in the Smackdown VS Raw franchise, still not better then Here Comes the Pain though)
· Godfather II
And the list goes on and on. Of course, it's a tough economy so I don't expect people to buy every game on this list. Although that doesn't explain how $60 MW2 ($70 for PC version) sold 4 million on launch day! Then again, half of the people who play Call of Duty are 14 year old 360 lovers!
Well it's almost midnight so I got to head to bed. Later guys

Steam can go to hell
by flameducky on Comments
Hey guys, I know I haven't made a blog in a while so think of this as my official return. I'm really pissed off at Steam right now.
Okay, so I got Steam a month ago and I loved it. I downloaded Fallout 3 and I just ordered Bioshock. I was also going to pre-order Batman Arkum Asylum for PC. Then earlier today I log onto Steam. I'm signed out. So I try to log in. *Types in password* Invalid password. *Types in password again* Invalid password. So then I go to Steam support. I type in my email address. They were supposed to send me a code and my secret question. I got the email (3 times) but it said nothing about the code of question. I had them send the email again. I didn't receive this time! WTF!? So I made a brand new account with a simple password (abc123) and tested it out. *Enters username* so far so good. *enters password* invalid password again! KISS MY ASS!!
So yeah, if you are thinking about getting Steam, I suggest you pass on that deal. Before I end this blog I want to give a special thanks for ValvE, for once again killing my faith in PC gaming.
Also I just got The Sims 3, and I'm addicted once more. (At least there's still one decent PC game out there that won't screw up)

Respect the king of pop.. OR ELSE!
by flameducky on Comments
I was one of the millions of Michael Jackson fans whose hearts was broken upon receiving the news that the king of pop had passed on. I grew up with his music, and he will live on forever in our hearts.
But I don't feel like grieving right now. Instead, I feel like punching someone in the face. I looked up the news story about MJ's death on Youtube earlier today and although being comforted by dozens of comments saying they're going to miss Michael and that he's in a better place now, I found myself wanting to punch the computer screen. I found scattered comments all over saying that they were happy MJ was dead after what he did to those innocent children…
ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME!?!?!?!??
I actually got so pissed off I went and searched all over for more info on MJ but I finally found what I was looking for. Proof that Michael had actually been proven innocent shortly after the trail! It seems the press had been gathering so much attention around the story (Not to mention gathering up the $ they earned from it) that no one even recalled Michael being proven innocent.
I mean you're talking about a man who gave millions of dollars of his own money to charity! One of the reasons he was in debt was because of charity and divorces!
Those of you who just like pissing me off and are going to post stupid comments everywhere on the web saying he WAS a molester, then you better hope I don't order this man to hunt you down:
Okay, maybe that was a bit too harsh. Anyway, I send out my best wishes to Michael's family. We will all miss him. But hey, at least now he's in a better place…
I'm back...

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Too much drama? I know :P
I don't know if it'll keep the mods away, but I decided to change my preferences so only friends can view my page.
I'll be returning to Gamespot later this week. (The site still sucks though lol)
In the meantime, enjoy this awesome song I discovered by System of a Down:

My last blog... for now
by flameducky on Comments
First off, WTF happened to my icon???
I shall give a few summaries of my life the past few months. Jay has given up on becoming Michaela's boyfriend. He now serves as her best friend. I have one year of college left before I can earn my degree and hopefully become a psychologist. I just finished beating Resident Evil 5 with my friend a few hours ago. The game was made too easy since my friend had infinite ammo and all he had to do during a boss fight is launch rockets over and over again. I'm buying inFamous tomorrow the day it comes out. The demo makes Crackdown look like a 50 Cent game!
I think for my last blog I might have my own little awards show. Just for the heck of it...
