There is a good chance they won't win game of the year. Journey came out of nowhere last year as did X-com. Lest we forget Walking Dead. The major sites and media in general have grown immune to the hype. Sure, hype will still sell a game but it doesn't lock in awards like it used to. Plus indie developers are becoming less and less obscure. Don't be surprised if your Micheal Bay mega super turbo hype spawn gets shunned when GOTY awards are handed out. 

The DX11 DOF effects kicks my OCed 570 GTX in the nuts, I lose about 20FPS on that one. I bumped it down to normal and the game now rarely drops below 40 FPS. Probably wont get much better in the near future since the current nvidia drivers are already heavily optimized for Infinite.

They're about to make changes to the way the points and gear to rating system works and one of the reasons seems to be to get over that exact hurdle you've explained.

Oh and they removed that rating requirement a while ago if I remember rightly. Everyone can pretty much get the same quality of gear but the better players will (currently in 5.1) still get it sooner. There's also elite sets which are just a recolour and have the same stats so they're really only for e-peen flaunting.

No idea what you're talking about, but each gear tier goes down in currency requirement (arena points to honor points, ect) each new Season.

Mists of Pandaria launched after you quit, so you should definitely resub and check it out.

The reason I  froze my sub in april 2012 is because I hit a wall in pvp and there was no way I could access the gear I wanted at my rating. I heard the requirement is being cancelled in the next major patch or atleast that's what I think I heard. The wording seemed fuzzy. Can anyone confirm this?
