[QUOTE="BranKetra"] Martial law in Boston after the recent bombings there support your assertion.mrbojangles25

i'd rather have a police state then no police.

Also there was no actual martial law in Boston to my knowledge. Your history of spouting conspiracy theories makes me trust that even less.

there was no martial law in Boston. Jesus Christ do you people really believe that? People were asked to stay in their homes for their own safety, but they didnt

We are in agreement, you know this right?

I kinda hope that doesn't simply get swept under the rug.

dude_brahmski

I concur.

This just another example which shows that the police force in this country needs to be reformed or at the least more tightly regulated.

We do not need to make the decision between the two choices you mention. Boston was not under formal martial law during the search for the Boston bombers, but citizens were required to stay in their homes while police and military units patrolled the city and also ordered citizens to leave their residences while they searched homes without warrants. The event was not an actual martial law situation, but normal rights were not respected. You can decide for yourself just like everyone else.

Wrong, they were SUGGESTED to stay in their houses their was no penalty for ignoring it.

It was just advising the populace that going outside while a crazy man with a machine gun is shooting things up is not a good idea.

The only one i can possibly see people getting wrong is the one about bonds. It's much more of a macro concept then the others, in that it deals with money supply.

I would very much like a conservative party that wasn't afraid of big government.

liberal social views would also be a plus.

How?

Most of Asia has a completely different socioeconomic system then the west (which is where this thread is focused).

[QUOTE="STAR_Admiral"][QUOTE="Lonelynight"] there are a lot of people who live with their parents even after they get married and have childrenLonelynight
Sorry but those people are losers. If your married and have kids you should be able to support your family, not living with your parents. If you are then you have seriously failed to provide as a parent and spouse. I moved out when I was 18, paid my own bills and education. By 24(at the latest) one should be able to support themselves otherwise they have failed to become an adult.

You just insulted millions of people who live in Asia.

That's an entirely different situation...

Life's about balance first and foremost. People will not find happiness if they start doing things only because of their ego (which includes succumbing to social pressure).

one_plum

No, they'll just be a drag on the rest of society.

Without people working at low-end jobs, society collapses.

Yes, (in the service industry at least) but they still need to be competent and hard working.
