okay, cuz Maingear will give you a case..(they have to) It's a very high quality case and costs more than $100 on newegg

PS. The rig you were showing us, was that from Alienware or Dell XPS?

A Maingear will definitely cost more than a DIY, but there isn't a company that can match their service. IMO, that justifies that their systems will cost a bit more than others. Plus they overclock your system under warranty. =D

A DIY will cost less, but tech support wil probably be you and the internet. You might have to deal with Nasty RMA's. You do get a sense of attachment to your "own rig"

Yeah, they are pretty good. You can call them if you aren't sure what they are all about.

Wait. You getting a Maingear or building your own?

BTW, that brings the price up to at least $2000 w/o tax and s/h if you include a monitor and case (which is necessary)

Yeah yeah, but if you want to get a prebuilt, get from a good company. If you're not totally computer savvy and want a good computer, Maingear has been winning awards left and right for their customer satisfaction. They set the standard for customer service and satisfaction. If you're going to build a high end rig, it would be wise to check their rigs out to compare it to whoever OEM's this computer is from.

Yeah. Will Alienware overclock your E6400? Or whoever is building this?

I'll wait two years for it. I don't want such games with potential to be rushed and miss out on that potential.

the 8800GTX will do great, as will the RAM. The only thing that the Ultra does well is keep power usage comparable to the GTX, while being clocked higher. With that rig, you will be very satisfied...Hopefully

It's fair..., but even if you don't change anything else, please for the good of your wallet, Don't get the 8800 Ultra. It's really a waste of  money. If you don't believe me, just ask anyone else. Other than that, I would up the RAM to 2GB.

This is Alienware, isn't it?
