Mine runs pretty smooth and I basically have the same settings as mhofever. It does start to lag though after playing for awhile (2 hours+) and exiting and restarting the game solves that. I will say the lag always comes but it always comes after at least 2 hours of playing. Sometimes it comes after 3 and the most I've seen was after 4 hours of playing it straight. Not bad I guess, but could be better. I never did get any lag though before the 2nd and 3rd patches. My specs are as follows: Intel C2D e7300, Asus P5QL-Pro, XFX 9800 GT, 4 Gb DDR 2, Windows XP SP3

I will never forget my reaction when I first experienced the "sword-fighting" gameplay element of the Monkey Island series. It's simply unforgettable in a good way. Based on the first post, I'm assuming that the remake, apart from the 5 episode adventure, is for the PC as well. Or isn't it?

Yeah, I noticed this game for the first time after I received a promo e-mail from GOG.com. It looks like a nice game to pour a lot of hours into like how I poured many hours into games such as Master of Orion and Galactic Civilizations 2. I can't quite believe it's an "old" game already, seeing as that it's on GOG.com already.

What sort of benchmarks are you looking for in particular? If it's for overall PC performance or even performance for gaming, then Futuremark has what you need. Take a look at PCMark and 3DMark.

The word out on this game coming to the PC is that it is never coming out for the PC, says Cliffy B.

If you have a bad HD then it should also affect other things apart from games. Try playing a video from your hard drive or play some MP3s or stream videos from the internet. If it's only in games that you experience the problem then maybe the video card is suspect. It may work now but it might eventually just die without warning. I once had a video card back in 2003 that played games alright, but once in a while any game I play would just stop for about 5-10 seconds and then play again and maybe an hour later it would happen again. Outside games it was ok, but eventually it the lag occurred too often (every 5 mins) and then BSODs starting occurring. A new vid card fixed my problem.

I"m assuming that the X-Com bundle on D2D works perfectly in Windows. I once tried the X-com 1 windows version some years back and it would hang so often w/c is making me apprehensive of getting the bundle. It's so tempting though! I remember spending entire weekends just playing these games!

Just go to yougamers.com and create an account. Whilst creating an account, you'll be inputting the specs of your rig as well. Also, the website also installs some software so that it can run it's game-o-meter whenever you click on a game (old, new or upcoming game) and tell you how your rig stacks up to the stated minimum and recommended requirements. In addition to that, there is also a yougamers minimum and recommended requirements w/c is based on feedback from users and the website people (I think).

If you have a vacant PCI-Express port then you can load up on those PCI-E 2.0 video cards. They are backward compatible. Just make sure you disable your ATI x1100 because if you don't, then you'll have a problem.

The Homeworld series. Great story, great RTS in general and I just love Sci-Fi stuff. *Special mention to Homeworld 2 for having a Battlestar Galactica mod (I love the 2003 BSG series) called Fleet Commander.
