Before I typed in my post about Chrono Cross, I was choosing between Legend of Legaia and Chrono Cross. I chose Chrono Cross since I actually finished it and took the time to seek out how to get the real ending. As for Legend of Legaia, I got pretty far into the game, but my older brother ruined it for me since we were playing it at the same time using different memory cards so that we wouldn't accidentally overwrite each other's save games. The thing is, he got so engrossed in it, he would sometimes hog the PS1 and I would end up watching him. So, I just watched him finish it.

I will however, give credit where credit is due. That being said, I also believe that Legend of Legaia didn't get enough recognition for being a great RPG.

[QUOTE="Deadly_Fatalis"][QUOTE="Daytona_178"]

"The 9800GT is old tech now"

You do know the GTX275 is basically the exact same card, just beefed up a bit more!

Daytona_178

That's not true, the 9800 GTX+ is equivalent to the GTS 250, so the 275 is actually much higher up.

Its the same architecture, thats the point i was making.

Are we talking about core architecture? I'm pretty sure the G92 core architecture is pretty old by now since the GTX 275 uses the GT200 core architecture. Unless we're talking about CUDA which is pretty much present on all recent Nvidia cards w/c includes my 9800 GT.

Anyway, does it really matter? None of this talk about architecture is answering my question. I was asking in the first place since the prices of these cards seems to go down every month. I'm contemplating an upgrade in December and by that time I can only imagine how much lower the price might be.

I still have mine! It's not the original release, meaning I got the Sony's Best or whatever it's called, version w/c is basically a re-released discounted version. It's the same exact game so I'm not complaining. It's absolutely great! Bought it in Akihabara, Tokyo back in 2004.

For the life of me, I don't know why Chrono Cross never gets enough mention or credit. Heck, Gamespot gave it a 10 out of 10 (an extreme rarity)and it was even released 3 years after FFVII and FFVII (a 9.5 rating from Gamespot) stillgets much, much more praise and attention than Chrono Cross.FFVII getsa prequel game (Crisis Core) and afull CG movie depicting the aftermathand what does ChronoCross get? Nothing.

It had great characters that were fully developed along the story arc. It had many riveting twists and and turns and getting the real ending was truly involving and getting it was like discovering an uber-Easter egg in a game. And let me just highlight the mid-game twist that will really hit you out from left field. The start of the game even had a brief scene alluding to that mid-game uber twist and that alone truly raises its credibility as being a game with a well thought out story and any true and great RPG has a great story to drive the player's actions.

Where is the love for this game? I always cringe whenever I read "What are the best PS1 RPGs?" threads indifferent forum sites andthe first fewpages are just filled with FF this and FF that and some other obscure niche RPGs.

You could just make those trades yourself and update your own roster file. Unless of course you're starting from a fresh install of the game in which case it would be easier to just download one. The NBA-Live forums (yes NBA live, weird place to look for NBA 2k rosters but it's there) is where I usually get directed to in order to get the latest rosters.

Hmmm... I've been reading mixed opinions so far from other forums. And finding a definitive guide that tells you what processors pair well with what video cards is something that eludes me as of the moment. I could just buy it and see how it plays out. After all, my mobo can still take the C2Q processors.

Will my processor bottleneck the video card? I currently play at 1680x1050 due to my LCD monitor being a year-old 22" LCD. I was thinking of gaming at 1920x1080 with a new monitor but I thought of getting a new vid card first since I only run a 9800 GT at the moment.

The 9800 GT, as we all probably know, is basically a redbadged 8800 GT w/c is kinda old already. I mean the tech behind it is old and I have more than enough cash to get a GTX 275. I just don't want to jump the gun and buy the video card if my processor is just going to bottleneck it. I could overclock my E7300 but I stay away from OC'ing stuff.

Wasn't the plug pulled already on Hellgate? I mean it's an MMORPG that failed. I guess it has an offline single-player w/c might do it for the TS. I got bored of it pretty fast.

If flying from LA to NY in this game takes as long as a real life flight from LA to NY, then I guess it's pretty realistic. I saw my cousin playing this game and it was amazing how many in-game switches he had to flip just to prepare for take off. Seemed pretty realistic to me. There's suppose to be some kind of online mode where you can fly while others fly as well in the same "cyber-aerospace".
