@bobafetthatesu: I'm confused. Do you have a piece of paper for each share you own? Or do you use the dividends you receive to purchase commercial toilet paper?
The second one makes sense, but isn't much of a statement, and the first one is simply weird in this digital age.
@Chr0noid: Have to disagree. A non-competition clause is something you sign in your original contract, not something you agree to as they're showing you the door. Kojima is a savvy individual, or at least he should be, and if he didn't run the numbers and the contract past his own attorney at the beginning, then it's his fault.
That said, December? He has to wait two whole months before he can sign with another company? Kojima's fine. He's just fine.
@whippyice: Taking money to NOT do something is just as much a valid contract as taking money TO do something. Kojima exercised his human right (if it is one) to enter into a legally binding contract, and I'm sure he was paid plenty for that agreement.
@rai1gun: If you can point to any instance of GameSpot putting up paid content that isn't specifically labeled as paid content, I would be very interested.
As is, there's another and very plausible reason why they might put up a video like this: GameSpot gets money from advertising, people see those ads by watching their videos, so GameSpot has to try to make videos that people want to watch.
"9 million people played the beta? Maybe people want to watch more about Battlefront. Let's make a Battlefront video!"
@DeviantCode: You may notice that I said the best way to shut down Battlefront news, not Battlefront. Let the news die, the game dies. That was my thinking.
(Is this where I get snide and say, 'welcome to reading comprehension'?)
