@pongley: You pick an arbitrary standard for what counts as an RPG, I point out that, by a different arbitrary standard, your RPG's aren't RPG's either, you say, "There's a flaw in your argument because there are good reasons for why my standard is the better one," and I say:
@pongley: If we're going to be hipster about it, then ALL computer RPG's are just games with pen-and-paper RPG elements in them. You can't act out what your character says, or go off in any direction you like with a dungeon master improvising along the way, shaping a unique experience just for you and your friends.
But let's not be hipster about it. It has leveling, skills, gear with attribute bonuses, and tells a story. It's an RPG.
@cip_raziel: Out of curiosity, what country are you from? I'm in the US, and I picked Yennifer almost 100% for her voice, so it was interesting to see someone inclined the other way.
@Kunakai: I am a bit shocked that anyone looked at GitS and thought, "This will make a great competitive shooter!" One of my favorite manga and animated series of all time, and it's going this way? Sigh.
Yes, please give us an RPG or strategy game, or even a shooter CAMPAIGN with a meaningful plot.
