It's the behaviour of people who live in a political echo chamber. You constantly feel the need to validate yourself like this. Really common behaviour in lots of groups. Common in most religions.

It's how they manage to convince themselves most of their audience is sexist. By misunderstanding the rational behind people's complaints. No-one gives a damn about female characters. People just dont want to be lectured about why their hobby needs to be used for social engineering. They then confuse the fact that people hate to be spoke down to with people massively disagreeing with the content of their position.

By feeling the need to explain something like this, they make it seem less genuine.

Just make your game and let the public react to it. Ditch all of this BS political manoeuvering.

Make the game you want to make and release it. It's very simple.

Well at least they were technically competitors. Sky is a TV company. There's nothing they gain even in principle from this, let alone in practice. And besides, No Man's Sky is getting published by Sony. They're not really freshmen you can just bully.

The only point of this seems to be for the sake of assholery. Just clogging up the economy for the sake of it.

Boy is that silly. I can understand why you could trademark the whole of your company name. But just as 1 word in a larger title? That's ridiculous. No-one would ever connect the 2. This was clearly done just for the sake of being assholes. They're not even competitors for god's sake.

It does have the scent of conformity to it. The previous God of War style is fairly rare nowadays and now they've transitioned it into something that looks like a lot of other games.

I agree. It's annoying that they're expected to justify it. You could demand they change about a million different things. People have just hung up on this specific thing. No-one has ever even considered demanding they make a female Mario. Why not? There's just as much of a justification.
