The real world likes every gadget "in theory", the question becomes "will they pay $150 for it?" or, for those who don't own a 360, "will they pay $350 for it?"... and we don't know that yet. Please stop assuming you know my motivations, know what I enjoy in gaming, or that I haven't considered all angles. This strategy is far more risky than Microsoft would like to have their shareholders believe. They're entering a crowded market, going against the Wii, have their competition introducing the Move, and have to struggle to establish brand identity. The short-term won't tell us crap, and yes, there is a negative backlash, C|NET has a few articles absolutely ripping Microsoft.
For anyone who defends this, I would like you to post your motivation for doing so. If Microsoft isn't sending you a check, why do you care if people attack the device? How does it harm you? Deep down inside, are you worried it will fail? Are you worried the skeptical voices will cause it to fail?
Yes people will buy it.How do you think apple is still in business.
