PEOPLE. The reasons Sony would want to upgrade their hard drive is if it is cheaper to manufacture 500GB hard drives than it is to manufacture, say, 120. If more companies are making 500GB sata hard drives, the cost will come down. In that way it the production costs go down and the value to the consumer goes up. Win? yes.

How would making 120 gb harddrives be more expensive than 500gb harddrives.Plus if everyone is using 500gb haddrives production will be more expensive

[QUOTE="RogueShodown"]

[QUOTE="XboximusPrime"] I think the Slim will go to $250 for 120GB and $300 for 250 GB.If it isn't announced at E3, it'll happen somewhere around November.

I was almost right when I guessed the Arcade would stay at $200, the Elite at $250, and the 250GB at $300.

[QUOTE="tman93"]Sure it was a terrible conference, but now I'm going to finally buy an Xbox so I guess it did its job. XboximusPrime

I would've rather had them include Live free for a year rather than an extra 130 GB over the Elite. Seriously, who needs that much space? It seems like they did that to make it look like a much better deal. I'm not complaining, though. It looks fairly priced now that you don't have to pay for Wi-fi.

umm, you were half right. Arcade is beign knocked down to 149.99. So now its cheaper then a Wii.

It's the cheapest out of the 5 systems.

He talks about them because the interviewers are for those demographics. They want to know about the core games, and Reggie talks about them. If they asked about their casual games, like the mainstream media does, then they talk about casual games.

JLF1

Why do you think he still talkes to them?

Hint: It's becasue they need the core userbase. The casuals (blue ocean or whatever you want to call them) are the big money but they are also really inreliable.
Nintendo still takes their time to cater to the core userbase even though they don't bring in as much money as the casual userbase for the simple reason that they are loyal, are buying quality and won't leave as long as they get the games they want.

The casuals left the SNES for the PS1 and the PS2 for the Wii. They don't care about the developers, publishers or the companies making the consoles. They only care about the new "in" thing. Yes casuals existed before the Wii. They were one of the big reasons the PS1 won over N64.

I dont care about the developers and im not a casual gamer.

If Sony releases PS2 games on PSN, then 500GB would be very useful.

Don't hope on too many games.They're still struggling to keep up with the psp go.
