THIS is a real masterpiece. And I don't even watch Scrubs.
Tik Tok is undoubtedly, undeniably the most incredible work of musical art ever to gracefully dance across this lowly wasteland called Earth. It is as if Ke$ha felt she had a duty, a duty to rid the world of the abmonations of the musical industry such as Michael Jackson and the lowliest, most despicable, maggots of mankind such as the tyrannical "band", The Beatles. Tik Tok came as a gleaming beacon of hope in this world, and it will forever stay as the firey star burns brightly in the darkest night. Both a message for mankind and a mercy for the known universe, Tik Tok's unparalelled, musical work and its lyrics like that of a trillion goddesses fuse together in a such a balanced harmony that can only be described as unbelievably orgasmic. Speaking in a solemn tone, Ke$ha alludes to her desire to mimic other's due to lack of self respect, her terrible, shameless lack of modesty and chastity and her hopeless and heart-crushingly sad addiction to poisonous intoxicants. She has absolutely nothing to look foward to, and her only ultimate solace is in attending loud and reveling parties. Yet, despite her failures in life, she continues to move on and enjoy the present and try to get her mind lost in worldly pleasures. This is a beatiful, awe-inspiring message that can only come from the likes of Ke$ha, though there is no one like her.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Tik Tok is worth five times infinity cubed essays. Do mankind a favor, and spread the wonders and virtures of this incredible song around the known and unknown universe, so that others may understand the message and realize the wonders of life itself and live in utter bliss and happiness for an infinite number of eternities.

Hint 2: Read it out loud.
...Which I can just mention later. *continues to waste time on OT*

Satou Tatsuhiro has dropped out of college and has been living as a hikikomori - a person who has acute social anxiety and shuts himself from the outside world completely - for 4 years since then. He is convinced that he is a victim of a conspiracy: an evil group called the NHK that is bent on creating hikikomoris like Satou for society to look down upon, making themselves feel superior. One day, a mysterious girl by the name of Misaki Nakahara asks Satou to join her "project", claiming that she can cure his hikikomori condition. Eventually, he signs the contract for the project, though not before being suspicious about Misaki and her motives. Throughout Satou's "journey", he meets other odd people such as Kaoru Yamazaki and Hitomi Kashiwa, and goes through phases of addiction such as getting addicted to hentai and MMORPG's. The future looks bleak, yet promising for Satou.
Welcome to the NHK is a fantastic anime. Instead of relying on fighting and fantasy storylines, this anime relies on deep character development and a dark, mostly realistic storyline. The characters are very well-done. In theory, Satou's character is as unlikeable as a character can get. He is selfish, paranoid, pathetic, lazy, perverted, fails at life, and is rather unreliable when it comes to doing so much as writing small parts of a hentai game script. And even though he changes throughout the story in a generally positive way, his disposition remains mostly the same. However, in Welcome to the NHK, the writers not only make his characeter likeable, but also extremely relatable. Another great character is Yamazaki, who is by far the most level-headed of the main cast, and whose character is only dragged down by his obsession with anime girls and his temper.
Perhaps the most well-done character in this anime is that of Misaki's. Not much can be said about her without spoiling the plot, but her character essentially serves to challenge and flip Satou's life upside-down. She approaches Satou as a kind, pure girl with no ulterior motives, yet Satou believes that she is a conspiracy, thinking that her sweet demeanor is but a means to distract him from the NHK's evil plans. All the characters are relatable in some way and are all very much likeable. Even though the characters are well-done, one can still get annoyed by some of the characters' rash decisions and despicable traits. But overall, one will surely find at least one likeable character throughout Welcome to the NHK.
As for the plot, it is unique and interesting throughout the show. Not much can be said about the story besides what is in the summary above, but if one pays close attention and understands the main characters, one will truly understand why this anime is a masterpiece. The characters' personalities and the plot mix together so well that one can't help but keep watching the show, episode-after-episode, just to see what happens in the story (I recommend you watch this anime slowly, though). Sometimes the story slows down and takes a few tangents, some of which are annoying such as the MMORPG arc. But in the end, everything is connected in some way, so every episode is necessary for the progression of the plot. Besides a few somewhat boring episodes, there isn't much to complain about.
Another great thing about Welcome to the NHK is the drama and acting. Some things that Satou does will make one want to scream at him. And the serious, dramatic moments in the anime are very profound and touching. Certain scenes can really pull on one's heartstrings and be totally heart wrenching. But despite the dark theme, this show has an awesome sense of humor. And the humorous parts brighten the story such that the tone, while dark, has a light, hopeful touch to it.
The music in this series isn't anything special, save for the credits theme. But all the tracks fit in the story and set the mood for a certain situation. That makes the music adequate, yet average. As for the voice acting, it's well-done and most of the voices suit the characters. Better than the voice acting is the script; the characters' lines never sound too cheesy or fake, and some of them are absolutely hilarious.
Overall, Welcome to the NHK is an amazing series that deserves more recognition. If you want an anime with an excellent story and excellent characters, you will not be disappointed.

Eid, an Islamic holiday, is going to be celebrated one day before 9/11...
That's not good. -_-
Great is the one who joined GS on 7 years past 2000 on the 3rd of the 5th
Holy is the one who first posted posts as interesting as orange pith.
Over a span of seven months, he disappeared into thin air
Killing his life, his weaning from OT was too much to bear.
Like the sun rises in the morning, he returned with a grand saying:
"Every day after school, I will come home, playing!"
But in the shadow of the night
Under his shady abode
There is nothing the likes of a laughter load.
Too soon does one suffer misery upon entering
"Excellent", he says, hearing one's femur crack like a plastic ring.
Reason and logic to him are but things.
And no, this poem has no real meaning. :P
