Yep, today's the first day of Ramadan, a month full of cravings and crabby people. In Ramadan, one who fasts must abstain from sex and sleep less, in addition to abstaining from food and drink. Contrary to popular belief, there is actually a good reason to fast in Ramadan: Self-discipline. Abstaining from things like food and sleep is considered to be the training of the self, or nafs in Arabic. A wild, untrained nafs can lead to sins such as lust, pride, greed, and sloth (similar to the Seven Deadly Sins in Catholicism). Ramadan is also a month of self-improvement: That is, the best month to establish good habits, quit unhealthy and sinful addictions (such as smoking) and so on and so forth. Many Muslims, unfortunately, don't understand this, and just starve themselves simply because it's Ramadan.

Also, since I came from the mosque at 1:00 AM, I can't go to sleep. Looks like I'll have to pull an all-nighter. >___>

Lexical synesthesia is a neurological condition I have. My brain automatically assigns certain letters and numbers with certain colors. For example, 3 is associated with green, 7 is associated with purple, etc. Here's a list of numbers with their respective colors: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Here are some examples of real numbers:

12,564=12,564

36=36

By the way, 36 is my favorite number simply because of its color combination. :P
