Its sad to see the board posters doing personal attacks...

If you need to argue... argue the point... not the persons age, mental state, etc... its just too shamefully low...

And crawling and checking peoples posting history and profile is just plain creepy man...

creepy? trolling is way worse than creepy IMHO if you wanna call this creepy

Yeah I guess so... but still its better not to set our standards as low as trollers..

Trolling? I bought the game and im playing it and enjoying it. Yet now im trolling because im not holding it up on a pedistal like you are. So my opinion does not count because i dont think its as great as you do? Nice.

I never acccused you of trolling... Read my previous posts... I'm just saying that personal attacks are not cool...

My vote is for Lara Croft... she maybe an old-timer... but she's one of the first characters to reach celebriity status.

Strange how things turn out...

Toshiba is Sony's bitter rival in the HD-DVD vs Blu-ray format war. And now here there making deals with each other...Hope things don't turn ugly, seeing that PS3 is the biggest selling Blu-ray player in the market right now.

The cell processor is a powerful piece of architechure but its lends its power mostly on the multi-media side rather than processing. The cell has 8 cores. 1 being the PPE and the other 7 being SPEs. SPEs are processors that are very well equiped to handle dedicated tasks, such as calculations, encoding, decoding, etc... but however are very limited in AI department due to the lack of branch tasks, in other words working out possibilities and making decisions.

The cell should be able to deliver especially in the sound department (7.1 channel sound, etc) and also graphics (draw distance, etc...). However, polygon count, framerate, resolution and anti-aliasing is a subject of the GPU which is entirely a different subject. Space wise its also limitless since compressing and decompressing content does not burden the PPE.

This will also explain why it's taking time for developers to learn how to use the cell. Since the coding used for the PPE and the SPE are different and behave differently due to the difference of architechure. One huge potential is once the developers can fully utilize the SPEs, the PPE will have more processing power to handle tasks suited to it such as AI and physics.

[QUOTE="Hitamaru-homia"]... Ummm Harder to develope??? Thats a Undergradute who knows no C++ Coding xD! If they think its hard how are PC games getting made that use More power? Its jus EA who make games like that.Prime Example that it isnt hard Folding@Home(Stanford students)...hot114
So you wish to deny "teh cell" and multithreading is just as easy as programming for a single core? I may just be getting started in programming but something tells me that doesent add up.
To my best knowledge Folding@home only utilizes one CPU a fraction of what could be reached,

I belive ther was an article flying around the system wars section a while ago stating how not a single game so far has been designed for using all of its cores (impressive considering how good some games already look.)

@hot114

Um actually that's not true. What they do is invest the resources for the game on the platform it was designed for. Then as cheaply as possible try to get it on other systems to maximize sales. That's why people complain "lazy devs" etc... For example R6: Vegas, 1080p on PS3 look like crap, put it at 720p and it looks as good as the x360 version. That is lazy. Madden from EA 60fps on X360, 30 fps on PS3. Madden is no way a benchmark game, there are many games already out that are graphically more intense than Madden that run fine on PS3. That is lazy.

I believe what you described is the old way of making multiplats
From how i understand it the 360 and PS3 are diverent enough for programming that a straight port is no longer wishful because it will only lead to shyte results. (the infamous madden example) So developers are stuck having to design two seperate games and this is the extra work that usually pays off greatly for PS3 games.

The fact is multithreading is hard. Not even all games use all three cores of the xbox360 or the SPEs in the PS3, because the cheaper way to program is single thread code... Less complexity and more conventional... But multi-threading is the future (CPUs are dual-core these days), but its not as easy as it seems.
