Another weekend has passed in this month of April, and already, May is fast approaching. Only 20 more days left of my senior high school year, but those 20 days are going to be madness. Madness!!! Thinking about it, it's going to be my hardest month of the school year, not academically, but emotionally. Realizing that I'm finally graduating and that I'm finally going to be done after 12 years of schooling from kindergarten to 12th grade is going to be tough to face. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to the school years of my life that helped me grow up, learn how to make friends, and that taught me about the world (well, the first 6 years that is, since middle school through high school became boring as hell:P ). Saying goodbye to the friends I made is going to be extremely tough, and even though I'm a guy, there could be a possible chance of shedding a teardrop or two during the final moments spent with my fellow cl@$$mates, especially when I'll be moving away from all of these people. But, before that time even comes, I'm going to make my final month of high school as nice as I can make it. And the fun begins next weekend, with prom.
Let me tell you, I am extremely excited for prom. I rented a tuxedo that I need to pick up on Friday, and I also ordered a nice corsage for Anony Miss to pin on her dress. It consists of 5 carnations with a couple of rhinestones on it to match her royal blue dress, so I'm hoping it looks beautiful. As for myself, I got a single white rose to go with my tuxedo, so I'm going to be decked out like a pimp8). I just wish I had one of those hats with the huge feather on it, then I'd be really styl1n:P. Anyways, I've got all the flower accessories that I need to pick up on Saturday, the day of the prom. I've got my payment in for the party bus, and I even made a mix CD of some hot electronic jams I download on the net here and there for on the way to the prom, so I hope it goes over well with the rest of the group (in which half of the people on the party bus I don't know, and don't even care to get to know:? ). All and all, I'm just ready to get it on for that night.
Even before the prom, though, I FINALLY got a chance to hang out with Anony Miss this past weekend, after so many failed attempts since Snowcoming. At first, things didn't turn out as planned this weekend, though. On Friday, I chatted with her on MSN, and asked her to go the movies with me on Saturday night, and she said she would. Well, fast forward to 7:00 last night, which was 30 minutes before the movie started. I tried calling, but no answer. She never called me, either. So, becoming desperate, I drove all the way to her house to see if she was home, but she wasn't. By that time, it was too late, so I just said to hell with it all, and went home, pissed and disappointed. My biggest pet peeve is when someone says they are going to do something, but then they go against their word. I was prepared to let off some steam the next time I talked to her, but then she called today at around 12. I told her how pissed I was, and she realized it, but she said that she was at her grandma's house, where there was bad phone reception, and also, she had started to take a nap at around 5, but didn't wake up until a few hours later, and she didn't mean for that to happen. I forgave her, because I know how naps can screw up plans easily. I'm just glad she didn't ditch me or anything, like I had predicted. So, to make up for last night, I asked her to go to the movies in the afternoon, and she accepted my offer, so we went.
That brings me to my movie review of:
Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay
One of my highly anticipated movies of the year, Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay has finally arrived in theaters. It starts where the first movie left off, and follows our beloved stoner heroes on more adventures of wacky and awkward situations.........after escaping from Guantanamo Bay, that is. Be warned, though, that this movie becomes quite offensive if you're not a fan of racial humor and the showing of male frontal nudity (as well as, of course, nasty language, but just about every movie has that nowadays, so it's no big deal:P ). Pretty much everybody of every nationality and belief is poked fun at, from Asians, blacks, southerners, gays, Middle Easterners, Mexicans, and probably more. If you can deal with that, though, this movie is hilarious from start to finish. All of the nasty humor is hilarious, and the torch is carried from the first movie to this one with honor in the humor department. In fact, I'd say the humor is more shocking in this one than in the first movie, and there's definitely more moments in this movie that'll make a person more astonished than the first movie. Even if it is hilarious, though, this movie tends to be unoriginal compared to the first movie. I mean, the first one was about two stoners on a journey to find a White Castle to fulfill their hunger needs. If you ask me, that's a unique plot for a stoner comedy. As for this one, eh, not so much. Their goal in this movie? Escaping from prison and stopping a wedding. How many friggin comedies out there have to end with a wedding being stopped, and the protagonist getting the girl that is to be married while the original groom becomes humiliated and defeated in a severe way? Enough with that bullsh*t already! But still, you've gotta give this one credit. It's a breath of fresh air among the sea of comedies divided between the very crappy ones and the Judd Apatow ones, and it's also got another cameo by Neil Patrick Harris in it, so it's sure to provide some laughter and entertainment among audiences everywhere. Highly recommended. An 8/10.
Luckily, I actually have money left over to purchase Grand Theft Auto IV when it comes out on Tuesday. That, and I've got $40 in Wal-Mart gift cards that I've been saving since Christmas to use for it. Unlike with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, though, I'm not absolutely desperate to get this one. If it's not available the day it's released, I can wait, but I hope to get it within the week. Surprisingly, I've been avoiding reviews, gameplay videos, and leaked gameplay footage that's been unleashed throughout the internet this past week, so I'm hoping to be filled with surprise when I play it for the first time. However, I can't afford Xbox Live at the moment, so playing the multiplayer is a no-go for now. But with the focus being on a strong single-player mode, I don't think I'll be disappointed. Also, with barely anything else to worry about in school, now that most of the stress is out of the way, I'll be expecting to play this sucker from the moment I get home from school to the time I hit the haystack everyday.
What blog post wouldn't be complete without a mention of some YouTube videos I found? This week, I'd like you to introduce you to supered86, whom you may remember from this little video I posted a few blogs back. In my opinion, this guy is the funniest man I've seen yet on YouTube. Just watch all of his videos and you'll see what I mean. In every single video he does, he HAS to have at least a few moments of randomness, which is why he's so funny. Of course, it helps to be a fan of random humor, in which I am extremely. This man may be the king of random comedy on YouTube. My highest recommendations to start out with are this, this, this, and this. Enjoy!
Well, I'm done talking my ass of for this week, so I hope everyone has a great week!
