Time To Hide In The Shadows Again

From now on, my blog is going to only be available to read by those on my friends list. Personal reasons exist as to why I want to do this. Let's just say that somebody I know typed "Snowcoming" on Google the other day, and one of my blog posts came up and was readable. It was on TV.com, too. Stupid TV.com:evil:. Very embarassing situation, and I don't want that to happen again. Then I found out that my stuff was out there in the open on Google, especially when I typed my username in for curiousity. So, with my blog set to private, anybody who finds any of my blog posts on Google accidently and clicks on it won't be able to read it now except for the people who I'm tracking and who are tracking me.

School has been wild lately. Academically, I've been doing fairly well. I took a test in Physics and Calculus last week, and surprisingly, I got good grades on each. Very unusual. I got an A- on the Physics test and a B- on the Calculus. I was so proud of myself. Then I found out that AP tests are coming soon, and that meant shelling out $84 for each test:?. But then the teacher suggested something. Since my family is pretty much poor, why not sign up for reduced lunch? This way, lunch will be cheaper and the AP tests will be free:D. Two birds with one stone. Not a bad deal at all. Screw all of the rich kids:P. Lots of other crap has been happening, too, but I'll save you all the trouble of hearing me out this time:P.

Then I watched a movie over the weekend. It's one I've been wanting to see for a while now, and I can't go through any February without watching the next entry in the series on DVD. It is:

Saw IV

Another sequal to the infamous horror series. Surprisingly, though, each sequel has proven to be exciting and great, unlike most horror series that put out endless sequals. But does Saw IV continue with the greatness? Well, in some ways yes and in some ways no. Let's cover the yes's first. It's the goriest Saw movie yet. The traps are as clever as ever. Jigsaw's background onto why he started doing what he did is revealed and adds some interesting aspects to the whole storyline. And that's about it. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed watching this, but it seems like the plot is starting to become ridiculous now. None of the twists in this one actually surprised me like the past. Things are starting to go stale. Plus, all of the cool characters of the past movies have basically all been killed off now, so who the hell is left to warrent another sequal? The lame characters that were introduced in this movie? Seriously, what happened to having big name actors in a Saw movie like the first one? Most of the people here are unknowns, except for Tobin Bell. And you know what? It's starting to lose it's scare factor as well. Even though the Saw series is more thriller than it is horror (IMO), it still has its scary moments, but in this one, I only got scared once. Despite all of these flaws, though, I still can't wait to see the next entry, and I can only keep my fingers crossed that it might be better than this one. This gets a 7/10.

Speaking of movies, I bet by now you've heard something about the Academy Awards on Sunday. I only watched an hour and a half of it, because I had to go to bed, but it was cool. Jon Stewert was a funny host (aren't they all supposed to be comedians?), and the results seemed satisfying for each category. No Country For Old Men seemed like it deserved the Best Picture Oscar, since it seems like I hear nothing but praise with that movie. I want to see it so bad. Same with There Will Be Blood.

I'm outta here. Got a cold to fight (as if I haven't been trying to get rid of it for the past 4 days:roll: ). My runny nose should've gone away by now, but it's been with me ever since my cold started. Usually when I get a cold, the runny nose lasts about 2 days and then I go through 2 days of coughing every 2 minutes. I've been taking these cold pills that my mom has bought, but they don't help worth sh*t it seems:(. I've also tried Nyquil, but that didn't help either. Well, it better not spoil my time at Snowcoming on Friday, or I'll be in a rage. I don't want people avoiding me like I have a disease. Tune in next time for the details!

A Reason To Watch the Next Season of Dancing With the Stars?

So I was watching the news on ABC the other night, sitting home alone, eating leftover spaghetti. They started talking about the new season of Dancing With the Stars. I can't stand those dancing shows on television. There's two damn many of them, and they are all horrible rip-offs (just like any other reality competition show) of American Idol. However, with Dancing With the Stars, it is slightly interesting to see which celebrities will be on the show, even though most of the time they are pretty much forgotten or unknown celebrities that nobody really gives a damn about. I mean, when was the last time you saw someone like Johnny Depp on the celebrity edition of Jeopardy or Snoop Dogg on the Celebrity Apprentice or some other wildly popular celebrity on some celebrity edition of a reality show or game show? Never. But then I listened to who was going to be in the next season of Dancing With the Stars while watching the news. I couldn't believe my ears when they said his name. But, just to make you guess, see if you can spot who I'm talking about in this article:

"LOS ANGELES -- Priscilla Presley, Kristi Yamaguchi and Adam Carolla are catching dance fever. They are among the dozen celebrities who have signed on to compete on the next season of Dancing With the Stars. The other contestants include actors Marlee Matlin, Shannon Elizabeth and Steve Guttenberg; tennis champion Monica Seles, magician Penn Jillette, R&B singer Mario and Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor, ABC announced Monday night. Rounding out the cast will be television actors Cristian De La Fuente and Marissa Jaret Winokur. The dancing competition is set to begin with a live performance Mar. 17, ABC said."

Give up? I mean, it's fairly obvious who I'm talking about:P. Jesus Christ, are you that slow:evil: ? Maybe I'll narrow it down to a fragment of a sentence:

"The other contestants include actors Marlee Matlin, Shannon Elizabeth and Steve Guttenberg..."

Can you believe it? F*cking Steve Guttenberg on Dancing With the Stars? I'll have to see this sh*t to believe it. Maybe the show is actually worth watching now:P. Oh, and maybe to see Shannon Elizabeth's hawt bod, too:P. But yeah, just thought I'd share that little tidbit of info with you, since you all know how much I like to pick on good ol' Steven.

I'm surprised I even found the time to get on here in the first place. Sh*t, I've been so stressed from school lately that I spend time doing homework from the time I get home until the time I go to bed. And this weekend, I still have a sh*tload to do. I'm getting tired of it. I'm surprised I haven't been thinking about dropping out yet. But I guess I'm too much of a good student, so I have to stay in school and get a good career. Don't want to go down the roads my parents have travelled, working in a factory.

There has been some good, though. I found out the Snowcoming dance is rescheduled for next Friday, so it's still on. I went and bought the tickets with glee, and now I'm highly anticipating that Friday. Boy, after this weekend, I'll have two things to look forward to: the dance and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

One last thing. I know you all don't really care about movies that much, especially the kind I like to watch, but just for kicks, I want to name my 10 most anticipated movies of this year. I see people doing lists like these all of the time, and I think, "Hell, why not do one myself?" So, here it is:

10.) The Incredible Hulk

If there's one superhero movie I'd go to see this year, it's this one. Yes, I know there's that one movie with Christian Bale coming out where he dresses like a vampire bat, but that's not in my top 10:P. This one is for a reason: Edward Norton. My favorite actor. And to see him playing a superhero is a real treat, especially since the last movie about the green behemoth was a borefest. This one looks like it has a lot of promise.

9.) Righteous Kill

Ahhh yes, the long awaited return of Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino working together on screen again. And what's this? 50 Cent, too? Well, this should certainly be interesting:P. Even though the first trailer looks like sh*t and 50 Cent's resume of movies isn't all that great, I'm still looking forward to this one. I mean, it has two screen legends working together in it. How could they let it be terrible?

8.) Yes Man

I'm a huge Jim Carrey fan, always have been since I was a little guy. I've always loved his comedies, from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective to Bruce Almighty, his movies have always been funny (with the exceptions of Fun With Dick and Jane and The Cable Guy). He's even done well with dramatic roles, such as Eternal Sunshine For the Spotless Mind and The Truman Show. In fact, some might argue he's better in a dramatic role than in comedy. It's nice to see him starring in another comedy, though and Yes Man looks like it could deliver. The plot sounds ridiculous and something you could picture Carrey to do well with, and according to the cast list, it looks like Danny Masterson, who played Hyde on That 70's Show, is going to be in it as well. Sounds like a good ol' time to me!

7.) Get Smart

I don't know about you, but this movie looks hysterical. I've seen the original trailer a million times, and I STILL crack up at it. It's got an incredible cast, and Steve Carrell has become one of my favorite comedic actors today. Here's a new trailer.

6.) Pineapple Express

If you haven't seen the red band trailer to this movie yet, you HAVE to take a look (IF you can find it, since it seems as if it was taken off of YouTube). This looks like it could be one of the most hilarious movies this year. And wouldn't you know it, funny man of 2007 Seth Rogen is involved in it:D! Maybe that's why I'm looking forward to it. But judging from the rest of the cast, and the trailer that I mentioned, it should turn out to be extremely funny. Here's the exclusive sneak peek trailer that came with the Superbad DVD to give you an indication of how crazy this movie should be.

5.) Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay

I don't care what anyone says, the first Harold and Kumar movie was one of the funniest stoner comedies I've seen in recent memory. It had it all: funny cameos, over-the-top situations that were actually executed well, awkward moments, random moments, vulgar language, hot chicks, and best of all, White Castle8). Even though sequels usually don't turn out as great as the original, I think this one could make an exception. Just watch the red band trailer. Funny dialogue, more over-the-top situations that made the first one hysterical, and even though it's making fun of the terrorist situation in the world today, I still think it's pretty funny. I mean, we all gotta learn to not take it seriously every once in awhile and just laugh. And Jon Reep, the man who won Last Comic Standing last season, makes a cameo! How can this one go wrong?

4.) Witless Protection

Jesus, this year is looking great for comedies. It's great to see Larry the Cable guy back on screen agai--wait a minute, hold the phone. What the f*ck am I saying? This movie isn't number 6! This movie is going to be a absymal mess!

The REAL Number 4.) Be Kind Rewind

Jesus, this year is looking great for comedies. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Jack Black, it's great to see him back on screen again, especially alongside Mos Def, one of the best rapper movie stars out there. And look at the director! This guy directed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. But it's the plot that really has me interested. Basically, these guys working in a video store have to recreate popular movies that they accidently erased on the videos in the store, from Robocop to Ghostbusters. It seems like a really original movie, and it could be worth checking out.

3.) Trick 'r Treat

I was looking forward to this one last year, but I guess it was on track for coming out in 2008 instead. Personally, I really don't know what kind of movie this is. From the plot description, it sounds like another movie with interwoven storylines that I like. From the trailer, it just looks like an average to above average horror movie. But then, it says it's a comedy next to the genre at imdb. I'm confused:?. Nevertheless, it sounds interesting, looks interesting, has a cast of great actors, and looks like one hell of a ride.

2.) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

No matter who you are, this movie NEEDS to be on your top 10 list of anticipated movies. It's the return of friggin Indiana Jones! How is that not exciting? People have waited for this for years. And judging by the trailer, it looks like we'll be in good hands. Even though Harrison Ford has aged a little, it looks like he's bringing back the same character we all know and love. The rest of the cast looks great as well, and even though some are skeptical about Shia LeBouf being in it, I think he could do a good job. If there's one movie that should be seen this coming summer, it's this one.

1.) The Road

Let me just say, that if it wasn't for my AP English cl@$$, I probably wouldn't have cared to see this movie. Then I read the novel for my outside reading assignment. One of the best books I've read in that cl@$$ It was nice for a change, since it took place in a post-apocalyptic world from the perspective of a father and his son as they tried to fight for survival, struggling to find food, shelter, and trying to avoid a world where the good guys are scarce and the bad guys consist of cannibals. Sounds awesome, right? Well, if this movie is going to be as good as the book, then I think it could be one of the best movies in years. The cast looks just about perfect for it, as Viggo Mortensen sounds perfect for the role of the father, and I have no idea who Guy Pearce is going to play, but including him in this movie is awesome. Plus, the director has already worked with Guy Pearce before, and he directed the very underrated western The Proposition. I have no clue if it will actually come out in 2008, since it looks as if it's in pre-production, but for now, it remains my most anticipated movie of 2008. Oh, did I mention that the author of the novel The Road is also the author of No Country For Old Men?

That's all for now. Sorry this post couldn't be original like my last one, but oh well. You can always expect something crazy every once in awhile:P. Take care, and have a great weekend.

You People Aren't Ready For This Craziness, But Oh Well...

Click here to see the first part of this "scanned image" if you can't see it show up.

Once again, clickey to see the rest.

Notice even with writing, I STILL come up with some typos as well. When I said, "I'm probably to only person..." I meant to say "the" instead of "to" :P. Also, notice how dirty the paper looks. I swear it doesn't look like that in actuality. Damn scanners:x.

But once again, don't ask.

Everyone Ready? It's the "Valentine's Day Rant" Post!

Man, f*ck this day. I hate it. It seems like everything this week had been going well until this day hit. With all of the days off of school I had due to the weather (in which I had Monday off for subzero temperatures by the way), it would've been nice to have a massive snowstorm overnight so I could've had today off. Seriously, my day was decent at best at the beginning of the day. I even had fun in Physics cl@$$, because all the teacher did was play funny videos on YouTube for us for the whole hour. But then it just started to slowly decline. Trying to push people making out in the hallways out of the way was bad enough, but then I got a bad stomachache. Then my day at school ended with a ton of homework. Then I injured my hand badly because I punched the hell out of my crappy CD player in my car in anger for skipping constantly on the bumpy road. Then I came on Gamespot, only to find out I got a moderation message because somebody reported me for a comment I wrote in someone else's blog. I repeat, I HATE this day. F*ck this day. F*ck all of this boxed chocolates (which you KNOW I can't have), fancy balloons (which scare the sh*t out of me when they get popped), fake roses, talking Hallmark cards, and revolving around supposed "love." F*ck all of those couples who kept getting in my way in the hallways at school because they didn't skip school to get a hotel room but instead made a lovefest in front of me. F*ck my car radio for being a piece of sh*t. F*ck my unstable stomach for making me use the horrid school bathrooms. F*ck the word f*ck.

But, let's look on the bright side of things. I'm not in school anymore. I've got a 4 day weekend. My moms (remember, I revealed my mom liked women before, so it's alright for me to mention it now:P) are packing some sh*t and taking it to Georgia for the weekend, so I'll be home alone. I'm going out with Anony Miss tomorrow night. And finally, after a sh*tty day like this, this video made my day, since it is a rant about temperatures, and that just about fits into the weather I've been having. So, with all that said and done, it's time to get some homework done. I apoligize if I offended those who read this and celebrate Valentine's Day with happiness. If that's the case, well, hope your day was incredible with your special other. To everyone else, well, maybe you can relate to me somehow:P.

Oh, and to conclude this, I can't forget this video. This man knows what he's talking about8). Cupid would be so badass with an uzi:P.

Another Blog Title Relating To Snow

This weekend certainly was a lot different than I planned it would be. I guess I have that massive amount of snow to thank:roll:. On Friday, we got yet ANOTHER snow day, making that snow day #6 for my school year so far. I think that's the most I've gotten since I've moved up here. Luckily, seniors don't have to make up snow days, and the rest of the underclassmen at my school do:lol:. Still, I really wanted to buy Snowcoming tickets that day so I didn't have to pay $13 per person at the door instead of the normal price of $10 for tickets. Well, I got a call from Amelia (why she still attempts to call every once in awhile I do not know:? ) saying that the dance was canceled on Saturday. CANCELED. Yes, I was pissed. I was looking forward to that so badly, and now, just like with playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I have to continue to WAIT. Hell, I don't even know if the dance is canceled from existence completely. Then again, the school desperately needs the money for prom, and this is their way of making money, so I doubt it ceased to exist. It's probably going to be next weekend, which is at the right time, because Thursday is...........Valentine's Day. Ugh....

So, what did I spend my time doing this whole weekend? Sticking my nose into my television (not literally, of course:P ) and gaming like a madman. I managed to beat two games this weekend. The first was Mass Effect. After beating it, I came to the conclusion that this game probably isn't as great as KOTOR was, but it comes close. If only the side quests were more varied and the inventory wasn't a mess, it could be better. Not to mention you find so many item containers throughout the game that the stores basically become obsolete. Seriously, every 5 minutes, you'd come to an item container that contains weapons and items that pile up in your inventory until you have no more room to obtain items:|. It got annoying. But, even with those gripes, it was still as satisfying adventure, and the combat system worked well after I got used to it about 15 hours into the game. The characters were awesome, and while there wasn't as much interaction with your party members as in KOTOR, it was still satisfying. Especially with Wrex. He was probably my favorite character. As you can see from my list of game ratings, though, I gave this game:

8 Jeff Goldblums and a Steve Guttenberg (notice how I switched them around from last time:P ) out of 10.

The other game I beat was Dreamfall: The Longest Journey for the Xbox. If you remember, I started to get into this game before Christmas, but then I got distracted by my Xbox 360 to really care. So, after beating my two primary Xbox 360 games (Bioshock and Mass Effect), I decided to go back into it and beat it. Let me just say that his has one of the best video game stories I've ever witnessed. It's got one of those interwoven storylines that I really like in movies, and that I've barely ever seen in a video game, and it turns out to be brilliant.............until the end, when you're left with so many questions unanswered. Actually, this really isn't a video game, since the gameplay is so little and far in between, plus is sucks balls. It's more like an interactive movie, in the sense of Indigo Prophecy (except that that had better gameplay). Sure, you've got stealth and combat mixed in with the shallow adventure aspects of it, but those parts are so insignificant and farfetched that you'll be saying, "WTF? Why is this in an adventure game?" Just because it has crappy gameplay, though, doesn't mean you should skip out of playing it. The story is worth it. It will keep you playing until the very end, and plus, it's a short game, made up of mostly cutscenes and dialogue situations, so you won't be tortured with the simple gameplay for long. Plus, it has one of the funniest characters ever in a video game: Crow8). He was introduced in the first game, The Longest Journey, and he returns better (and funnier) than ever. I could imagine him in a Monkey Island game or something like that:lol:. There's also a lot more familiar faces you'll recognize from the first game if you've played it, and you should play the first one before you play this one because it's one of the most critically praised adventure games of all time. So, with the fantastic story (and the awesome return of Crow), this mediocre adventure game (as far as gameplay is concerned) gets:

7 Brandon Lees out of 10. You know, because he played the Crow in The Crow, and I just got done talking about a....game....with....a.....crow? Never mind:|.

I did start two brand new games this weekend, and they were Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the Xbox 360 and Landstalker for the Wii's Virtual Consule. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance definately is similar to X-Men Legends, but it is automatically better than X-Men Legends for one reason: the variety of superheroes and villians from the Marvel universe. Sure, I'm not a big fan of comics, or have much knowledge of most of the superheroes in the game, but it's cool to see all of these different superheroes and villians from different comics come together. It's almost like a Kingdom Hearts or Super Smash Bros. thing, if you know what I mean. But I like it so far, and it's simple to get into. The other game, Landstalker, I got because I was craving an action/RPG experience similar to Zelda, and I heard that this was a Zelda clone, so I ate it up. It's alright so far, nothing significant. The controls are a little annoying since you can only move in diagonal directions, but I guess it's something I could get past. I haven't really played much of it so far, but I'm sure I'll get back into it soon enough.

No movies this weekend, since the weather has been too crappy to go to the movie theater. Maybe next weekend I'll finally catch Rambo. Then I'll have an excuse to test out my Sylvester Stallone rating scale:D!!! Boy, I bet you can't wait for that one, can you:P ? Just like you can't wait for Heidi 4 Paws to come out, right? Yes, that's another movie with talking dogs, and yes, it's got Steve Guttenberg as a voice in it. How predictable, isn't it:roll: ? But hey, it's gotta be as good as Cats and Dogs, right? Nah, not really:P.

Snow Coming With Snowcoming

I'm getting sick of this weather. This has to be one of the worst winters we've had since 2004. Throughout the day, it's been snowing like no other. We've been under a winter storm warning since this morning. And since there was barely any snow on the ground this morning, they still made us go to school, even though the roads became a mess by the afternoon. Funny, they cancel school because of some minor muddy roads after the snow melts, but they won't cancel school when a winter storm is expected to dump up to 5-10 inches of snow on the ground in the afternoon, with roads that are ALREADY icy and snowy in the morning? Straight up bullsh*t. All I know is, it seems pretty much inevitable that I'll have another day off tomorrow, due to the fact that this sh*t isn't supposed to stop until 1 in the morning. That means plenty of snow to shovel........again:roll:. I'm f*cking sick of it. And I used to like the snow........

I'm lucky I didn't lose control on the roads when I went to the cardiologist's office. Yes, I had to return to that wretched place surrounded by elderly people. I hate feeling like a young outcast surrounded by people that have been around since World War II:cry:. But yeah, I had to return after 2 months to get a heart monitor put on me for one night. Didn't take me long, thank god. And I was extra careful out on the roads, so I made it there and back home with ease. Hell, it was right in town, about 5 minutes away, so all I had to do was keep my speed down to 25 and I was fine. That was mostly the speed limit anyways:P. Anyways, I can't take a shower until 3:30 tomorrow, and the nurse assured me that I'll probably have trouble sleeping with it on. Maybe this snowstorm actually came with perfect timing, because I don't think I could survive at school stinking and with lack of sleep. A snow day would be perfect:P.

Then there's Snowcoming, Homecoming's cousin from the Arctic Circle:P. I had been doing some serious thinking about whether I should go or not. On Monday, I was convinced by one of the girls that I went to Homecoming with that I could accompany them again if I wanted. Cool. But I STILL wanted someone to ask personally. I mean, I've become associates with a lot of girls this past year, and I felt like I had a chance. Then there's my best friend, whom I'm going to call Anony Miss (haha, get it:P ? ). She's the one who I always mention that goes to me with the movies all the time. You know, from this blog post and that blog post. Not that you care to look back on some of my old blog posts, but hey, they're there for reference:P. So, I called her this afternoon to ask her, and she actually said yes. Actually, she said she already had a ticket for the one at her school (like I said before, my town has two high schools), but she said she'd be happy to go with me, so I convinced her that I'd buy her ticket and stuff so she wouldn't feel bad for getting her first ticket in the first place. So, yay, I gotz a date! And to top it off, I'm going to be with the group I was with from last time as well! HOORAY! I hope this becomes a blast, especially since prom's fate is in Snowcoming's hands because my school is too poor to hold a prom unless it makes enough money from this dance. Hooray for school budgets:roll:. Also, I hope her boyfriend from Pennslyvania doesn't get pissed:P. Seriously, the dude sounds like a psycho. According to Anony Miss, he threatened to kill himself once:|. It's hard to tell if she is even this guy's girlfriend anymore anyways because she said to me once before that he wasn't anymore, but they still talk on a day to day basis, and she said that he wanted to take her to prom. I'm confused:?. It's bad enough she met this guy on the internet in the first place (they've met with each other in real life many times after, though), so I'm worried for her. But anyways, I'm just going to enjoy my time with her at Snowcoming, along with the rest of my friends.................including Amelia. Yes, she's going to be there, too:P. We're still friends, though, so it's all good.

Other than that, nothing much has happened. The date for my service hours for my senior project to be due got extended all the way until the end of March instead of the end of February, so I'm happy for that. I've been working on getting an application for college sent off, since I'm still slacking on that front. I need to get my ass in gear. Procrastination sucks balls:(. So, with that all said and done, it's time to play some video games. Or, maybe I should shovel snow. The question is, though, am I allowed to do something like that with wires attached to my chest, monitoring my heart? Guess I'll have to take that risk...

But hey, at least I'm not a part of this:P.

Godzilla Ain't Got Sh*t....

Another weekend in the wintertime over, which means another update about my life. Actually, this was a surprisingly good weekend. First of all, I had three days off instead of two. Why? I had a snow day on Friday due to a massive snowstorm that came through (it wasn't really THAT bad, though:P ). That's unusual to have two snow days in one week. Well, technically, the first one wasn't really a snow day, but you get the picture. Second, I watched not one, but TWO movies this weekend. Finally, I got some valuable video game time and I used it wisely:).

With all of the leaks and secrets revealed about Super Smash Bros. Brawl this past week, it got me in the mood to go back into Super Smash Bros. Melee and prepare for when I get Brawl. Even after owning it for 7 years, this game is STILL amazing. There's just that feeling I get everytime I play seeing all my favorite Nintendo characters fighting each other that just never gets old. And even after owning the game for quite some time, I'm STILL discovering secrets. For example, it may not be a big deal to some people, but did you know that when you switch the costume for the Ice Climbers, the female character becomes the lead for the duo? Little things like that just get me giddy like a girl playing with Barbies with her little friends. Still, I kinda suck at the game. I tried playing Classic mode on "Very Hard," but there was no way. I got past two stages, and then got slaughtered. I even have a hard time on "Normal." Who cares, though? As long as I'm having fun, that's all that counts. I'm not trying to compete with everyone else's skill.

Like I said, I watched two movies this weekend. We'll start off with one I watched on DVD. There are two reason's I watched this one: to be prepared to see Rambo in theaters, and to use it to count as service hours for my senior project. It is:

First Blood

It's weird to call this movie "First Blood," since most people refer to it as "Rambo," but oh well. Almost everyone should know about this movie, since it's considered a cl@$$ic in the action genre. For those that don't know, though, here's the story: A Vietnam veteran named John Rambo (Stallone) is just drifting through a town in Oregon, when he starts getting harassed by the local police force. Eventually, he doesn't tolerate it anymore, and starts a small war with them that turns into utter chaos. It sounds like it gets over-the-top sometimes, and it does. But it also has some realism in it as well. For example, Rambo's mind is transformed after being exposed to some of the most harsh aspects of the Vietnam war, like being tortured as a prisoner, and therefore, he tends to go out of control because of it. I imagine that those who are Vietnam veterans and watch this movie might relate to his situation. Also, the way he describes how people protested and spit on him at an airport is also realistic, since that actually did happen. Upon closer inspection, it seems that this movie is more realistic then it seems. However, the reason it is considered a cl@$$ic is because of the action, and there is a lot of it. There's never a slow or dull moment in the film, even in the beginning. It will keep you interested until the end. There's plenty of variety in the action sequences, such as Rambo setting traps in the forest to hurt his enemies, stealthily killing his foes in cool ways, going on a rampage through the town, surviving in a cave, and much more. Most of the time, there's barely any spoken dialogue by Stallone, either. Mostly just at the beginning, a part in the middle, and at the end he talks, and that's it. He puts on some good acting in the movie, and his emotions tell you what he's been through. The police force that he's up against seems to be a little farfetched, since they come off as ignorant *ssholes that just harass Rambo with the greatest hate possible as soon as they spot him for the first time. It's not just one person, either, it's the whole police force. It seemed unrealistic. Gripes aside, this was a great action movie to watch. I think I actually enjoyed this better than I did the original Rocky. I can't wait to see Rambo at the movies now. This gets an 8.5/10.

Then, I watched yet another movie at the movie theater. But with Juno and The Bucket List under my belt, and with the indication that I haven't seen Rambo yet, what could I have possibly watched? Well, it's pretty much obvious, isn't it? Look at the topic title. It mentions Godzilla. It says he "ain't got sh*t." That means he's being compared to something. Well, it HAS to do with a monster movie, and it's none other than:

Cloverfield

Warning: This review may contain minor (or major, depending on how you view it) spoilers. Read at your own risk. If you do read it, and become spoiled when you don't want to be, it's not my problem. Don't whine or cry or anything like that. Seriously.

Talk about the first major movie event of the year. It's not often that you see a fantastic movie come out in January, but this year, that was the case with Cloverfield. This movie was INCREDIBLE. Watching this movie gave me the same impression I had the first time I watched The Day After Tomorrow for the first time (yes, I actually liked that movie). So many thrills and so much suspense, as well as jaw-dropping situations make this movie a MUST SEE. The story starts off as a going away party for a guy named Rob, and a handycam is being used by one of the party's inhabitants, a guy named Hud, who is Rob's best friend, and he is in charge of going around the party and having everyone say something about Rob before he leaves. During the party, secrets are revealed about Rob's ex girlfriend and a whole bunch of love drama follows............for about 10 minutes. Then, that's when the movie starts to kick in. Chaos ensues, and everyone is running for their lives or hiding from a giant monster terrorizing the city of New York. In fact, it almost looked like 9/11 all over again. That's when we follow Rob, Hud, and two girls as they are trying to locate Rob's ex and get to her because he's still in love with her. The love story doesn't really matter, but it adds into the plot. Like I said, this movie gets very intense, especially since it's in the perspective of a normal, shaky camcorder. That's one of the primary reasons why I loved this film, because the camera added realism to the situation. It was a huge improvement from the standards set by The Blair Witch Project, and handled much better in my opinion. It also shrouded the monster in mystery, because of the constant wobbling. Speaking of the monster, you actually DO get to see it at times, and it turns out to be one gruesome mother f*cker. You never actually get a clear view of it, but what you do see is satisfying enough. There were also smaller monsters that were spawned from the large monster that caused chaos as well. It reminded me of a sci-fi movie or something like that. Unfortunately, the formula this movie followed was that of a typical horror movie. Like in many slasher films, all of the primary characters are killed off one by one, and by the end, only the main character remains. It would've been nice if not everyone survived, but just only one or two characters were killed off, or even if the primary protagonist was killed off in the middle of the movie, leaving us with the underappriciated characters. The ending comes pretty quickly, and the movie is over in about 80-90 minutes, which is very short for a monster movie. Personally, I thought there should've been more meat added to some of the parts. Some parts will be over so quickly that you'll be saying, "Wait, that's it? I thought they would have more obstacles to face than that...." Actually, by the time the movie ends, you'll be saying that. Gripes aside, this is one of the best monster movies I've ever seen. It's even better than last year's The Host in my opinion. Go see this if you have a tolerance for shaky cameras and monster movie carnage that pays respect to Godzilla. It gets:

9 Steve Guttenbergs and a Jeff Goldblum (which counts as a half:P ) out of 10:P

So..........February. Valentine's Day, President's Day weekend, the end of my service hours for my senior project, and......Snowcoming. Almost the equivilent to Homecoming, but with a wintery twist. Will I have the balls to ask someone? Will I go with the same group that I went with before? Will I even go at all? Well, I guess only time will tell, and we'll see in the future, won't we;) ? For now, I'm gonna go back to playing some Melee. Captain Falcon is my main dude, and I'm about to "Falcon Kick!!" some a$$. Get it? Yeah, corny joke. Hey, it can't be as corny as my rating scale from my previous movie review, can it:P ?

The Leakage For Smash Bros. Begins........

Brought to you in part by:

(Just add a "t" after the "I" in "I solves teen pregnancy" and it's complete:P ) It's true. This morning, I've been going all over Gamespot, spoiling myself with all of the leaks found on forums. Found out quite a few exciting things, but I won't spoil them for those that want to remain surprised. Here's a link to a sh*tload of pictures. Like I said, beware of teh spoilerz. BEWARE!!!!!!

So, my first day back at school was interesting. I had a real bad stomachache that resulted in me "using" the school bathroom, which I LOVE to do, since the school bathrooms are ALWAYS clean:roll:. Not the first time that's ever happened, though. My desktop publishing cl@$$ seems like a trip back to my freshman year, when I had computer applications. In other words, pure easiness. In Spanish II, some people I know have entered the cl@$$, so it's all good there. For commercial art, my art teacher was happy to see me again, and I convinced her to let me take independant drawing instead:). It's basically like my studio art cl@$$ last year, only with drawing. And she increased the amount of projects we have to do:( So, guess you can say I'm back on my grizzind8). Then, I found out I had a different lunch period:cry:. And my Physics cl@$$ doesn't have the people that were in my group in it anymore:cry:. Luckily, they're still in my lunch period, so at least I have SOMEBODY to sit by. Calculus............blah. AP English..........blah blah. And, that's about it for my day back.

Other than that, I got the results for the rest of my exams. On the American Wars exam I got an A, and on my AP English exam I got...............(gasp) AN A!!!! Shocked the hell out of me. And last, and most certainly least, is Calculus. Remember how I predicted somewhere between a 60 and a 78? Well................I GOT A FRIGGIN 78!!!!! WTFBBQIDKMYBFFJILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Which translates to, "WHAT THE F*CK BARBEQUE I DON'T KNOW MY BEST FRIEND FOREVER JILL!!!!!!!" ) Never f*cking fails:|. Still, it's the highest grade out of that range I predicted, so oh well. And I got a B for my final grade for that quarter, so it's all good. I probably should've predicted between a 60 and an 80 instead, so I could've gotten an 80:roll:. Overall, it looks like I did well on my exams. 4 A's, 1 B, and 1 C. Can't go wrong with that I guess.

Then I woke up this morning to school closings galore. WTF? And my school was one of them. But I have no idea why. We didn't get snow. It rained like hell overnight, but the temperatures were too mild for the water to freeze on the roads. There's no fog outside. Not all the snow had melted to create a massive flood. There have been no reports of tornados forming throughout the state to primarily destroy the schools. Nothing was said about a massive epidemic going through the schools. No zombie outbreak, no alien invasion, no terrorist destruction, no atomic bomb. So, what's the deal? I don't know, but it's pretty damn cool8). That gives me some video game time today...........as well as time to work on some homework I guess.

Got another movie review for you guys. One of my lady friends and I decided to hang out on Sunday and catch a flick, so that's what we did. Still, no Cloverfield or Rambo this time, but we did see:

Three Men and a Baby

This was a surprisingly great movie, despite the critics' hate for it. The story is about three me.............

(sound of a record player being stopped)

What the hell? That wasn't the movie. Seriously, this Steve Guttenberg business is getting a little old. Anyways, the REAL movie we went to see was:

Haha, WRONG!!!! Try again.

Nice try, but NO!

Seriously...

That movie's not even out yet:|.

There we go:).

The Bucket List

Righteous Kill might be highly anticipated because of two screen legends, Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino, coming together for the second time since Heat, but until then, we've got The Bucket List, featuring a different duo of legendary actors, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It's about two older men who think of a plan to end their lives with a bang after they meet in a hospital and find out they only have months to live due to cancer. The story may be a little sappy, the structure may be cliched to the max, and it may be unoriginal, but still, it's a damn good movie. You get to see many great places, as well as witness an incredible bond between two actors who we all know and love. Seeing these two together is almost like a dream come true, just like it was to see DeNiro and Pacino together in Heat. You have Freeman, who is as caring and wise and likeable as always, and you have Nicholson, who delivers with his fantastic and witty dialogue, as well as his quirky facial expressions and attitude. In fact, I'd say Nicholson stole the spotlight, because he was funnier than hell throughout the entire movie. That doesn't mean that Freeman wasn't good, because both actors were amazing. Even though there was humor in this movie, it is still balanced out with drama, as expected. In fact, it can become quite a tearjerker toward the end. Speaking of the ending, it was well done for this type of movie. It's a little on the short side, and I noticed an f-word snuck into the movie (even though it is PG-13) which could disrupt the mood, but hardly noticeable. It was just a nice movie to view overall. Not the best, but most certainly not the worst. It gets an 8/10.

Time to play some video games. And I could still use some help to figure out how to put up my gamerscore on my profile. Please, just anyone. I'm going to get down on my hands and knees to beg like a little puppy dog if I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Frozen Fish Is Hard To Cut

For once, I had a nice, laid back weekend. It was nice not being able to worry about doing homework. In fact, I started my service hours for my senior project on Friday:). I worked for about 4 hours up at the VFW (for those who don't know, it is one of those organizations that has a bar, and it stands for "Veterans of Foreign Wars"). That night, I must've unleashed my full potential of being able to work, because I impressed the supervisor. What did I do most of the time? I cut frozen fish fillets for a fish fry. Frozen, hard-as-a-rock, fish fillets that I cut with a huge knife. I went through three and a half boxes full of that stuff, and even though my hands hurt like hell afterward (and they still do, even after 2 days:? ), I enjoyed it to an extent. It showed that I was actually capable of working, and made me less worried about finding a job when I wanted to search for one. Most of all, I got 4 hours out of my 15 done for my senior project! If I do this a couple more times, plus a few other things that I need to do to keep a variety of what I do for service hours, I should be set:).

I also got connected to Xbox Live for the first time ever yesterday. I bought a 25 foot ethernet cable, plus one of those things that connects two ethernet cables together, and I hooked it right up. Let me just ask, is there anything else that is extremely awesome that I don't know about the 360? I mean, I was at the Marketplace, buying next-gen demos! Sure, some of you might be like, "LOL big f*cking deal, I do it all the time, nothing new." But to me, that is insane, being able to preview highly anticipated games that are going to come out in the future. I went and downloaded the demo for Devil May Cry 4 and Virtua Fighter 5, even though I'm not anticipating them. But even as demos, they provided some very sweet gameplay experiences:P. In fact, that's the first time I played a game from each of those series. After experiencing that demo for Devil May Cry 4, I think I might want to start from the beginning and get Devil May Cry in the future. I'm sure it's extremely cheap nowadays. Also, I noticed I got a 1 month gold membership free, so that was cool. Too bad I don't have any online games to play at the moment (besides Forza Motorsport 2 and that arcade game, Undertow, which I didn't really care for). I wish I had the money to buy an online game, but I can't at the moment. Hopefully I can get one soon. I'd especially like to get The Orange Box. But let's see, what else did I enjoy about using Live for the first time? Well, chatting with people who have MSN Messenger on the PC was cool. Being able to send voice messages using the headset was awesome. Being able to chat, send messages, and receive messages while playing a game is REALLY cool. Being able to play music while playing a game is awesome..............wait a minute, that's something I did WITHOUT Live. Still, pretty awesome feature, and I love playing Wu-Tang Clan while riding in the elevators in Mass Effect:P. Man, I am so glad I got those cables. Live is such an awesome experience.

One question though: How do I display my gamertag on my profile? I tried copying and pasting every URL that I saw at the site where I created my gamertag, but it just keeps coming up with a "Bad Request." So.............help?

Well, that's about all for now. I haven't received all of my results for my exams back yet, but I did find out from 3 cl@$$es. My grade for the contemporary American literature exam was very good, passing with a 100%. I did great in Spanish II as well, scoring a 98%. Then, one of my hard cl@$$es: Physics. I got a B! I ACTUALLY PASSED!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! BUT, now's not the time to celebrate, since I still have to find out my grades in AP English and Calculus, the hardest cl@$$es I've got. We'll see next time I'm sure.

Oh, and one more thing: a hardcore picture featuring two of the best action stars ever coming together:

:| No, I said TWO stars. Not ONE. And especially not Steve Guttenberg:|...........even though that picture has a surprisingly darker tone than most of his goofy looking pictures:P. In fact, that picture actually makes him look like a hardcore mother f*cker:shock:.

Anyways, I'm talking about this:

Hellz yeah8). Can't wait to see Rambo.

Well, I'm out. Later.

The Coincidence of Heath Ledger's Name

Whoopie! I'm finally finished with my final exams, and probably done with them for good during the rest of my high school career, depending on if I got good enough scores on my MMEs I took last year. Overall, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Of course, Calculus was the killer. Like I said before, I predict somewhere between a 60-78. However, the rest of my exams didn't seem as bad, even AP English wasn't as horrid as I thought. Even PHYSICS! We'll see if my grades will agree with my opinions of difficulty, though:P.

And, with exams done, I get another day off, so that makes this weekend a 3-day weekend for me! That means lots of video game time, some time to hang out with a friend who I've been talking to after school for the past couple of days, and............some time to finally get my ass in gear and start that senior project. That means going to the fish fry tomorrow night at the VFW and doing some service hours. Oh, haven't I told you my topic yet? I'm doing my project on the effects of war veterans' minds after going to war. Interesting, eh? Well, I figure an easy way to do the 15 service hours is to do community service at the VFW and interview veterans:P. Easy enough. That is, until I actually start the interviewing. Talking to elderly people in bars about war isn't necessarily my hobby, you know:?.

How about that review of No More Heroes, eh? Or, should I say, REVIEWS. It seems like that that is truly the first great game of the year. Still, I gotta save up that cash for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as well as Grand Theft Auto IV. Speaking of good ol' GTA, how about that sh*tload of preview coverage that's up all over the internet about it? This game sounds insane! There's GPS systems, drunk driving, being able to push people off buildings, more emphasis on indoor gameplay, an advance AI system for the police, hell, here's a link to a thread where you can find loads of information about the game IF you've already checked out Gamespot's coverage. The release date seems fair enough. I'm probably going to play the hell out of Smash Bros. anyways, so I can wait. That is, IF Smash Bros. comes out by its targeted release date this time:evil:.

And, of course, I'm sure everyone by now has heard about this:

Oh sh*t. Wrong picture:oops:. Damn you Steve Guttenberg:x.........

There's the right person. Anyways, I'm sure everyone heard about Heath Ledger's death by now. Still shocks the hell out of me, since he was so young, was appearing in the highly anticipated The Dark Knight, and was just having a great acting career overall. I still think his best role was in Brokeback Mountain, and to all of the haters that think otherwise just because it's about gay cowboys," give it a chance. In fact, I think he was very underated as an actor. It wasn't often that you'd hear about him in major headlines or anything like that, as well as being praised for his acting ability. Not until it was revealed that he was going to be the Joker, that is. Interesting fact that I found out about the man, though, and I think it is really disturbing. Apparently, he was named after the character of Heathcliff in the fantastic, cl@$$ic masterpiece that I recently just finished reading called Wuthering Heights. Why is that disturbing, might you ask? BECAUSE IT'S THE WORST PoS BOOK I'VE READ IN MY LIFE!!!!!! I'd rather lay down in the middle of the freeway naked than read that book. I'd rather drink out of the toilet after taking a sh*t and puking than to look at its pages. I'd rather KISS THE PRESIDENT than to read it. I'd rather watch the "2 girls 1 cup," "BME Pain Olympics," and Soulja Boy Crank Dat videos at the same time while riding a roller coaster and eating tuna casserole than to read it. I would even watch a STEVE GUTTENBERG MOVIE rather than to have to face that pain of examining that horrid piece of "literature" again. Yes, I just pulled an Angry Video Game Nerd for you guys:P. But I feel bad for Heath for being named after such a disgraceful character in literature. However, it would've been pretty sweet if he played Heathcliff in a remade Wuthering Heights movie. That, I might pay to see:P. Anyways, back to Heath Ledger. It's really sad that he's gone, and may he R.I.P:(. That picture of him does look badass, though...

So, before I finish, I have a question: I've been wanting to try to get on Xbox Live now, but the ethernet cable is too short. The network adapter is too damned expensive, so I'm not even going that route. Might be a dumb question, but, does a regular ethernet cable work with the Xbox 360, or do I have to buy one that is made especially for the Xbox 360? Or is there another way that is cheap?

I'm off to call the cardiologist so I can see when the hell I'm supposed to go back there. I was scheduled for an appointment sometime in February to get a heart monitor, but the piece of paper that had the date on it got lost somewhere, so I'm going to have to call the damn place. Hey, it beats going there in person, because I can't stand going in there. I only go there when I have to. I just feel too young to be there everytime I go:cry:. Curse my heart ailments:cry:. CURSE YOU WUTHERING HEIGHTS!!!!!!! I don't know, just felt like saying that at the end:P.

Oh jeeze, there goes my good mood:|.

No matter. Just gotta watch this music video of my favorite song of last year, and then I'll feel better:). Well, looks like hip-hop FTW.
