It was Game of the Show for many websites, including IGN, Eurogamer, Destructoid, and GamesRadar. So I'm not surprised. Game looks fantastic. Deserves every bit of praise it receives.
Only game I really wanted to see at this year's E3 is Zelda U, and we're getting a Zelda U blowout extravaganza. So, I feel like the biggest winner of all.
@Bilal100: Sorry, I gave up on GS being a trustworthy review outlet a long time ago. It's not just about the scoring, but about the content of the reviews themselves.
@Xristophoros: So what you're saying is, the majority of both critic and user reviews "inflate" their scores simply because it's Zelda. And your evidence for this theory is...?
The Zelda series is just fine, people. This is a spin-off game, not a core Zelda game. Even so, it is actually reviewing very well. Anything above 70 on Metacritic is actually a pretty good game, so you can calm yourselves and breathe.
Wind Waker (a core Zelda game) - 96 metacritic average
Four Swords Adventure (a spin-off game) - 86 meta avrg
@Igal-Ze I sort of agree with you. Most of the "difficulty" actually in Dark Souls felt like it boiled down to annoying redundancy more than anything else.
@jagdedge124 @Omnichrono I agree with you for the most part. The Souls games are still very much niche games. I don't necessarily think that fact alone precludes it from being GOTY, but it probably doesn't help its chances much either. I really just meant to say that some of the other games coming out this year, such as the ones I listed above, have a very good chance of being better than Dark Souls II all around.
