Just got the PS3 bundle from Gamestop. Got everything hooked up to my monitor. Set the resolution for 1080p (monitor natural setting is 1920x1200). The PS3 console menu shows at full screen, and GOW collection does as well. When I start LBP it only shows up in a smaller box in the middle of the screen (480?). I've reset the resolution and restarted. Not sure how to get the game to fullscreen.

For that budget, look to play older games, or some modern games at lower settings.

1. Is the gain in speed significant for regular use?

2. Does it have to be the only program on that drive, or are there some things that can go on that disk?

I installed a 2nd HD on a system that was running fine. When I went to start back up, both optical drives I have would not open (lights came on). I got BOOT DISK ERROR. I used an old CD drive to load my XP disk and see what I could get going. (I still can't believe both opticals failed at once). When I go to repair on the old HD, or Install on the new, I get "No Drive Found". Is it possible I'm looking at a bad MB? I find it hard to believe 2 opitcals and 2 HDs, one fresh out the box, all died together.

They are both plugged in, I know because the lights are on. Is it possible they both failed at the same time?

I'm having a host of issues, but this is the one I'm working on now. I am booting into BIOS. While in BIOS both of the optical drives are on (lights showing), but neither will open. I know the gears can go bad, but two at once?

Am I right in thinking I don't the OS for them to open? They do open and close fine using the paper clip method, so I know they are not jammed.

Is it possible for them to get enought power to light the LED but not to open?

Also, I two optical drives. The lights for both come on when BIOS fires up, but neither will open when the button is pushed.
