[QUOTE="Franko_3"]

[QUOTE="bojingles4393"]its one of the best when compared to the 360 library of games but on pc its just aiight nothing special except for the fact that it is very atmospheric.Quajen

Qft, for the console players,the game is basicly the closer they will ever get to a pc-only game. For pc gamer though, the gameis a version ofSystem Shock2 for stupid.

"The game is a version of System Shock 2 for stupid." And I helped with spaces. Anyway, i've been playing pc and console games for about 7ish years, and this is an absurdly great game. I can't believe it didn't win GOTY, and anyone who thinks it was overhyped probably didn't play it, play all the way through it, or are in the extreme minority. The game is fantastic, not just because of plasmids, the shooting aspects are fun, the story is great, and the atmosphere is the best of any game to come out in a while. That's my opinion anyway.

I understand now why people say its overrated. Bioshock was supposed to surpass its predecessors but instead took a huge step back. Thats the main reason. I actually really enjoyed the game, even though it dragged a little bit at the end, near the apollo square area. I played bioshock BEFORE system shock 2, so i think i got the best experience possible out of those 2 games. Bioshock was a nice introduction to this type of gameplay and SS2 made it more complex. But this isnt normal, since bioshock came out 8 years after SS2.

Yeah me too, i think this game is really cpu extensive, even though i jumped from a x2 4200 to x2 6000 and didnt noticed a fps improvement. It might be related to AMD too, who knows (yes i have the DC optimizer).

What i would personnaly like is a little more depth in FPS games. Just add a little more customization to your armor and weapons, have an inventory and stuff. Basically, my ideal would be the gameplay of system shock 2 (aside from the gunplay) and open ended environments with multiple ways to get to your objective (think Deus Ex), the cinematic feel of half-life 2 and maybe some really well optimized engine (nothing too fancy, as long as it runs good).

for me i think its a tie between crysis and the witcher. With the system i have, i thought the witcher would be a breeze to run but i was really dissapointed in the framerate. As for crysis, well i was fooled by crytek as well, 1st time i was actually hoping it would run like they said it would...

what drivers are you using? i had the same problem and switched back to 163.44 and it worked after that. Also, did you check the bug fixes box? Did you check only some of them or all? If not, open the cam CFG file in the sshock2 folder and add the safe_texture_manager at the end.

[QUOTE="greatmax1"]download this : http://www.strangebedfellows.de/index.php?topic=392.0and run it. Check the patching up box, the resolution one (select from 1280*1024 or 1600*1200 if you want them) and the bug fixes box. If it still doesnt work, try rolling back drivers (if you have nvidia, the 163.44 worked for me). You can check the ttlg forums too if you still have problems after that.infect999

the patch worked! i had tried a different patch before and it had done nothing...thank you so much...been waitin to play this for ages

im happy it worked, this game is amazing and after playing it i swore i would help anyone on gamespot that would have trouble getting it to work lol. I spent 7 hours trying to fix it with pretty much everything i found, so i know my way around the technical aspects of this game :P.

The patch has been a crapshoot for me.... Currently re-installing Crysis after numerous "error 1334" fixes on Vista, includingrunning as Administrator.harryBaginas
if you removed any of the intro movies put them back where they were and if you messed with the .cfg files just put the stock files back. Just make sure not a single file is modified and everything is just like when you first installed the game. Then install the patch. That worked for me on xp, mgiht be different for vista.
