Boot up in safe mode and do a System Restore. During bootup just keep tapping the F8 key until you get a dos menu. One option on it should be safe mode. This loads up bare bones basic windows. If the system restore doesn't work you can use this to uninstall the new driver and install the old one. If this doesn't work at all, then you'll have to use the windows os disk to boot up. Make sure your bios is configured to boot off of the CD/DVD drive. Then just pop the disk in and restart the machine.fynnealright thanks, though i cant access windows even in safe mode, missing or damaged file : windows/system32/config/system....

You will need liquid cooling and a 2000 watt PSUjust to run the best card though.
ATI sucks at making power efficient and low heating video cards that perform well, the 8800 GTX is so much better then the 2900 XT if you are looking for a card that has lower power consumption and low heating, the only difference is that there is a slight performance difference in which the 8800 GTX is weaker, aside from that though I would take a graphics card with slightly weaker performance over one that apparently requires a 1000 watt PSU and heats up like a 360
you have to be the dumbest person in the world. First off for a fan boy of nvidia you would think you would get your facts straight in favor of nvidia but you can even get that right. The GTX is better than the 2900xt, but the 2900xt is cheaper, and stupid it does not take 1000watts to run a 360. The power supply takes 203 watts.
lol, he said the card runs as HOT AS A 360, not that the 360 takes 1000W. Make sure you dont look dumb next time you call someone thestupidest person on earth.so yeah earlier today i updated my gpu drivers from 158.22 to 162.18, played some games, and got a blue screen of death. Now when i start the computer, i can access the bios, but cant launch windows. It says that the following file has been damaged or doesnt exist : ///config/system ( i only remember the last two parts, there was like 2 more parts before that). It also says i can repair it if i insert the windows cd and press ''r''. Now, i dont know when to press r...so i would like some help here. I would also like to know what aare the effects of repairing this folder. Is it going to format my computer? Thanks a lot for helping, and sorry for not knowing what to do, its just that its the first time this happens to me.
alright so im looking for a good online shooter that doesnt require too much teamplay. Games similar to half-life 2 deathmatch, stuff like that. But it has to be popular though. Ive tried css, hl2dm, quake4. Ill probably get ut2007 when its released. So yeah i would like suggestions please. Thanks in advance.
[QUOTE="BirdofP"]I wouldn't drop your PC jsut yet that $600 PS3 can crank out 1080i HDTV. That is the equivalent of 1024 x760 resolution on the PC. Nowadays that is considered a lower resolution with resolutions havind a horizontal in the 2 and 3 thousands. The PC may cost 3 times as much but that is becuase it runs so much better.
You also want to consider the versatility of your PC. You surf the net play games type documents edit photos and video put music on your MP3 player. Out of that list your console can only do 2 of those things.

Nah.
"1080i, the former king of the HDTV hill, actually boasts an identical 1,920x1,080 resolution"
So yeah try that on your PC. You will need 8800 dual SLI to do that wich costs more than 1500 dollars. I allready have a PC for the internetDuuuuuuh...
i suggest you go see some benchmarks on how well a single 8800gtx performs at these resolutions. On many games, it gets 30fps+. Also, i find it funny how people talk about how inexpensive the consoles are and the fact that they can play at high resolutions, but they always exclude the price of a damn $2000 HDTV to make the games they play look better than the same game on the pc ( at a lower, more casual res).1. lag.
2. obvious hackers/cheatersthat totally deny the fact that they hack.
3. idiots that are on the same team as the hacker and support him because the are convinced he doesnt hack (though this has only happenned to me a few times, it was ridiculously frustrating but at the same time challenging, since its hard to outshoot a hacker, even if it was a pretty even fight)
