Any planned update that reduces the game size significantly? They keep releasing pretty much the same buggy game so I keep playing the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl for I'm not gonna bother downloading that giant BS, or they should release demo anymore considering how huge games are anymore like they releasing the best game ever lol. :DDD
Back then, when people usually had 40 GB HDD they released GTA San Andreas that was like around 5 GB and around that time only that game worth to install that much as the game offers endless sandbox fun for you to create your own game, kinda like how kids used to had to invent their own games playing on the street. Now they release generic BS that has model and texture quality most of us don't even care or our eyes can see and release an empty game that takes huge space for nothing. It's like a damn digital black hole lol. You can't even make a GTA San Andreas even if you had mixed GTA 4 and 5 bundled with every game released between 2016 - 2025. My highest offer is 70 GB or I auto "ignore" on Steam lol.
This John Buckley guy is not just right in the head. You can understand it as soon as he BS you in their Discord server lmao.
As for legality of the matter, they must very well know how Nintendo is legally sensitive as they did took legal action for same reasons many time. You don't even have to know the law, this was clear to happen despite people talked about it for years many times and this John Buckley guy himself said this wouldn't happen and threw shit on people instead lol. BTW my dude why hire a security guard when you experienced legal action? Just why. Do they think Nintendo is mafia? :DDDDDDDDD
To give you idea, usually video game communities are toxic because of the customers, however for Pocketpair their community is toxic just because of their employees as they ban customers for simply being active in their servers as asking a question about the game like "where to find X" is the most sinful act a person can do lol. They pretty much killed Craftopia fan base, as I imagine they probably killed Palword fan base too because they would ban people just not to read message ayy lmao. I never saw a fan base create non-official community when official community exist just because the company itself is toxic lol.
However new video games have the DNA of Last of Us and Death Stranding for being walking simulators, BS character drama, pseudo-movie, nonsense dialogues, pointless gameplay and mindless action sections lol. :DDD
I won't say video games should return to the "good old days" of high-score competition and 2D platform-action style or something. Things were so well until 2010 and then it just gone slowly shit and died in 2015 as last decent video game that was released is Witcher 3. RIP video game industry 2003 - 2015. He died before he could drink and drive a car!!! :DDDDDDDD
Yeah, dude. This was really what everyone was waiting for. How about adding actually quality content that gives meaningful side quests to do? Last time I checked all they did was scripted events that some dogs attack people, and when you just stand far away after dogs are killed some NPC runs to you like he sensed a force user there in the woods as he thanks you for helping them to survive when in reality you did nothing about it, yes nothing. IDK why they let Bethesda still exist ayy lmao. They are way worse than random indie developers and their rubbish games on Steam, because indie developers develop for a passion despite they lack decent sense of quality, however these so called AAA business BS does it for easy money therefore end up producing empty digital rubbish lol. I got Fallout 76 for free but I demand a refund. :DDD
They made fun of certain aspect of the society until the last game and ironically they turned into what they make fun of in the last game. Besides story didn't make sense and the game map was repulsive. The only decent aspect it had was fun missions but it was too short. Basically the game suffered from all the new generation bad aspect of video game industry. Still it was a better experience than any GTA game other than GTA San Andreas lol. The game didn't even seem like a Saints Row game as if whoever bossed them around is probably to blame. Perhaps they needed an excuse to produce cheap rubbish game by forcing them and when things naturally went south it justified them to fire them.
"It was expensive to maintain" doesn't mean anything in business. Do better job to profit so how expensive it was won't matter. In this round you may didn't profit but doesn't mean you can't use the same idea to profit if you can execute it right as the last Saints Row game had okay idea but a BS execution all over the place. The issue of video game industry is their greed make them believe they can profit by doing cheap work. If you want profit you gotta earn it, as you don't have to develop a GTA game. But you gotta develop a better game than that was released before, otherwise I see no point to waste my time with your game. My money is trivial, my time is what that matters so you can't even take my time so how you can expect me to take my money? Most video games that released since 2015 made me think how I would regret spending my time on them and it's mostly because they are too short and the time you spend is trivial. For example Witcher 3 is a long game as time you spend on it is valuable while Cyberpunk 2077 is too short that makes the time you spend on it trivial. It kinda seem like wasting your time decorating your hotel room you will only use for 2 days, it makes even adjusting its settings to your liking pointless. People spend way more time to create their characters than how long the game even take to finish lol.
Another matter is firing an experienced workforce for what exactly? People are hyped about AIs as companies started to believe AIs will be magical solution for costless production after one-time investment that makes employee problems go away but even if a video game could be fully developed by an AI its limit is producing what a human can relate themselves to it in every aspect of it. AI is not a chemical being that has human DNA, therefore despite how much it was trained it can't produce without seeming off. Bad video games may be bad but there is still a human touch that when a game is bad to you it's just because you don't prefer it, but AI produced content is bad for lacking the human touch. It's just weird. I use AI to produce music by writing my own lyrics for my personal use but despite it's likeable for it saves me the time to find a decent music to listen to, it's still off as I would prefer human-made content instead when I spend my money on. AI is already a big off problem in video games whether dialogues, side quests and visual contents. AIs can't even have a decent conversation without seeming off lol.
So my dude, you keep firing experienced teams, then you hire temporary random people and expect them to develop a video game that can profit. This is one of the fundamental problem of the video game industry that non-gamer random people who lack decent video game development experience, who can't even write "hello world" in assembly and has zero understanding in art mixed together to produce a video game to attract a non-existing customer profile that's formed by misunderstanding all the crazy people in social media by aiming lowest budget possible by following the direction of a CEO who believes GTA games are a hotshot but it's not. For example most of GTA 5 player base is new generation who never played a GTA game before and they mostly play GTA Online because basically there is no other game that satisfy their online modern day crime simulator need. So a game doesn't have to be a GTA game to sell well, however GTA games didn't sell just because of its name alone. They had certain attractive feature they had in their own context. But it doesn't mean people would only buy a GTA game and ignore rest of the games. For example for me Saints Row IV is way better than any GTA game other than GTA San Andreas as the game has what the other open world games doesn't have. So what's important in a game is not its name or what feature it has, what matter is what different fun feature it has that other games don't have. This is pretty much why PlayStation 2 era video games are good. Now, they make games have the most basic generic features there is that trying to attract non-existing player-base as these games ended up bought by rich people who would even buy a shit just because it has a price and then they say "well done CEO, you did good. well done team, this time you won't get fired" lol.
Will they make a Bioshock game fun and have decent storytelling lol? I don't want a mindless action game that the story mostly exists in random audio devices that are scattered around. :DDD
