Yes, still to this day, after 15 years I still feel bad for not giving a bullet to the kid in the game. Because of it by drinking my sorrow I killed my liver thrice as I have my 4th liver now. My liver is more like a "deader" right now. :DDD
*ahem*
To be serious while how bad the game was its book is that good in contrast. I still remember the cold cold damn winter day reading the book under a blanket by checking the metro map from time to time. It kinda felt like reading Horatio Hornblower books lol. I didn't plan to even finish the book but I devoured it without taking breaks lol.
Then why the game is bad as an adaptation?: Long story short book is about interesting take on humanity's struggle to build a decent civilization in the metro station while game is all about shooting anything that moves. In metro the primitive aspect of humanity is a scary truth way more than the monsters while the game has no such horrors, there is only boredom of mindless action. My imagination was way scarier than what the video game could and cared to realize. I rather play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. lol.
I was intentionally not buying a Switch because Nintendo at least usually releases consoles that newest one is same shit but upgraded version that has a decent backwards compatibility so if Switch 2 doesn't have decent support for non-Nintendo video games then I'll skip Switch 2 too especially if it won't have decent video games to play on it. For me just Switch 1's library is not enough to make me buy it, considering its library is not good enough as much as Wii U and only one Wii/Wii U game among the ones I care about is playable on Switch. Nintendo is sitting on a gold mine they keep ignoring lol. They didn't even make Wind Waker available on Switch. New generation Nintendo is business suicide lol.
As for sale predictions, Switch 1 sold well just because of COVID so Switch 2 won't sell that much if another pandemic doesn't break out lol. None of my friends who bought Switch 1 to keep their sanity in lockdown wants to even touch Switch anymore because "I don't wanna remember those days" and they were not a gamer to begin with so they don't even consider buying a Switch 2 let alone any video game.
Long story short my Wii U still plenty enough as Switch was easily skipable and if Nintendo won't play their cards right I can easily skip Switch 2 too lol.
@stickemup: Honestly since we have SWAT 4 at home I don't care about any other game in the genre. I doubt Ubisoft can ever release a decent game anymore as they will be destroyed soon anyway. :DDD
They should fix the AI instead of keep changing its graphics. Even in the year it was released its one of the worst example of AI in video game history broke immersion a lot, not the graphics lol.
I would prefer a decent remaster instead of a remake for remakes often don't have what that made the original good, however greedy companies that fail to come up with new ideas using "remake" BS to literally heat up ancient pizza and serve it to us as customers have to settle with it just because of its "remaster" aspect. I'll always like Oblivion more than any The Elder Scrolls games as just its legendary side quests are enough to like the game, however remake is pointless if it won't improve the game significantly. It would be cool to have climbing to buildings feature old games had pre-Morrowind for example instead of grinding 100% acrobatics skill to jump high lol. Some Skyrim features would be cool too. If they won't make Oblivion better then they deserve to be trapped in the Oblivion. :DDD
No thanks, bruh. Instead they should develop an MMO game of another Syfy tv series called "Killjoys", then I would literally live in the game like some World of Warcraft fans lol.
