@rickjamesia: did you even read the article or just the headline and jumped straight into the comments section?

here you go: "The developer and publisher have assured us that all prior sales of the game on Steam will be fulfilled on Steam, and Steam owners will be able to access the game and any future updates or DLC through Steam."

@Jinzo_111887: I presented a constructive argument, but you'd prefer to create smoke about being hacked and dismiss key pts i made (like 2 factor authentication and unique email passwords for acct recovery) and use absolutes with bold letters. clearly i am bested in this one. to recover from this mortal blow, i shall use the only remedy i can think of: buying and enjoying metro exodus on epics store. have a nice day :)

@Jinzo_111887: Account creation requires an email, and i dont know why you wouldnt just use the same email that you used on steam. this isnt an inconvenience, worst case scenario your exact fav user name wont be available, unless they have a sys similar to bnet where names are not unique. I wont tell you how to manager your passwords, but i will say you dont need unique passwords for every single account; especially with 2 factor authentication, strong passwords, and keeping your hub password (like your email) unique.

in the past you either used steam or had tons of unique individual game launcher icons on your desktop. bethesda, uplay, origin, and battlenet exist to counter what was a monopoly in pc gaming: steam. But these extra launchers have 1 thing in common, they typically only have the games from that publisher/company because the goal was to cut out the middle man (steam). Thats great for big publishers that can afford to make their own launcher, but if you are a dev outside of those publishers you had limited options; picking steam was the obvious choice because of the mass user base=more potential sales.

steam is what i would call a naturally occurring monopoly, there simply wasnt anyone else big enough to offer the same services. And being a monopoly itself isnt illegal; its when abusive price hikes occur that the law steps in. What epic is trying to do is be the alternative to steam, as in tons of games from different devs; only with better rates. this is gonna be a big positive turn in the industry, and eventually steam will lower its cut and potentially these epic exclusive games will return to be on both platforms.

its just business, and despite this exclusivity its still fair to everyone except steam, why? because the epic store doesnt require additional hardware or purchase to use; this isnt some extra console you need to buy, you just have to use 1 more launcher on your pc. i already use steam, bethesda, uplay, origin, and battlenet. whats 1 more. Ideas like keeping the game on steam but raising the price to make up the difference (that steam takes) would only hurt the customer, not steam; and it would generate ill will toward the devs of metro. In the long run steam will have to get off its high horse and admit its not the only major PC store in town and offer better cuts to devs to stay competitive. Saying you are going to boycott the game out of some foolish loyalty to steam means nothing to anyone and will make 0 difference against epic getting more exclusives; you are only denying yourself from enjoying the game. dont cut off your nose to spite your face.

Not surprised, they've been doing these shortly-after-release-sales since bf3; this is practically a EA tradition.

Another cash grab where most of the budget went into cinematic's, licensing and marketing and not gameplay. After watching an hr or two of streams it was clear most of the mechanics and features were given the bare minimum of effort.

better footstep audio precision, a way to repair armor (like dead enemies leave scrap in there bag, which incentives more fighting instead of hiding), better killcam with full enemy player hud (so we can see hp/armor and active perks), and 60hz servers.

the link to said patch is 6 days old, and there have been at least 1-2 new updates since then. theres even an article slight higher up the front page with the most up to date patch. why is old news getting bumped/updated?
