Just thought I'd throw this out there, but there is a trend I have been noticing in gaming, and I wanted to get the community's opinion on it.
Back in the day, I'll say 2004, when Halo 2 came out, I would remember when I would play that game and NOTHING else. Many of my friends were like this too. It doesn't matter what came out, if you weren't playing THAT game, something was wrong with you.
Let's go back a few more years...Counter Strike 1.6. Again, if you were playing games, you played only THAT game, not very often would you stray away from it. There are countless other examples of such games, how often do you log into PSN and see someone on your buddy list playing the SAME game for months and months? They never play anything else?
I think these days are behind us now. Gone are the days of being "loyal," to just ONE game for months, if not years. With the recent influx of really good games coming into the market, it's really tough to be monogomous anymore.
Is this good? Depends on how you look at it. Some people buy every AAA game out there, play a bit, and never beat it. I know I've done that a few times, then a feeling of guilt/remorse follows.
So how do you game? Are you the type that buys a game and refuses to buy another one until it's beaten? Are the you the type who buys EVERYTHING and is master of nothing? Or are you an FPS guy who plays (R2 for example,) and NOTHING else due to your friends always inviting you the second you come online?
Personally, I buy a game and won't get another until I beat it. As for online, I just can't commit to one anymore, which means that I am pretty mediocre online, which in turn detracts me from even going online in the first place.

Halo 2? You mean you would only play that garbage for months? Gosh, there were something wrong with you. Loyal to Halo 2.. lol.
[QUOTE="jshaas"][QUOTE="Simulator_Shock"]The fact that it launched at $600, Unnecessary Blu ray player built in, lack of backward compatibility and *cough* only a few good games for it is what's prevented me from buying a PS3 so far....oh and lack of funds. Simulator_Shock
Why is Blu-Ray "unnecessary?" It will replace DVD eventually just as the DVD replaced the CD, and the CD replaced the cartridge. I think it was very smart for Sony to include the Blu-Ray. It will allow the PS3 to sustain a much longer life span than the XBOX or Wii. Now M$, and Nintendo, will have to come up with something with more capacity while the PS3 is hitting it's prime. Bonus... M$ will probably end up paying Sony for the rights to use a Blu-Ray drive in their next console. It's just like the Rabbit and the Hare... slow and steady wins the race.
Well considering I don't use Blu Ray therefore I don't need it. I just think it's BS that sony goes and forces Blu Ray onto you but they take out Backwards Compatability....way to go sony.....
And as for the Rabbit and the Hare example, I wouldn't go and say that just yet....wait until the very end of this console gen, I don't think sony will magically be on top again....
Well considering I don't play ps2 games on ps3 therefore I don't need backward compatibility. I just think it's GREAT that Sony gives us the blu-ray technology for the cheap plus a great gaming machine. Way to go sony!
As for the Rabbit and Hare example, I wouldn't say Sony would be absolutely on top, although Sony did get its job done, which is winning the HD/blu-ray format war. If PS3 will be in service as long as PS2, it would sell a LOT. If xbox360 has as short of a life span as xbox, and rumor has it that xbox720 won't be really a tangible machine, then who knows what will happen in 3 years.
Why is everyone going on about LBP, its just for the kiddies isnt it? I wont be wasting my hard earned money on it too many choice games coming out.Am enjoying COD 5 at the moment, then going to get Far Cry, Resistance2 then Legend of Spyro for my grand child.olderlady
Just by the simple fact that you PAYING COD5, which is just a mod of COD4, we can tell where you are wasting your hard earned money. lol.
Fable 2 is only as good as this game, yet it got reviewed so fast.
The crappy shooter game, Legendary, even got reviewed, with a score of 3.5. lol
WHat does this tell you? 1. GS is bias against JRPG, 2 GS is biased against the black console.
