Video game is business, how can you say that they have nothing in common?

Everyone in a society should carry their responsibilities. To a developer, the reponsibility is to create the game to the best standards they can, to a gamer, it's to pay for the game they wish to play instead of pirating them. Comsumers are the check and balances to producers. If consumers take whatever crap producers produces, take all the inequalities, guess what, you will get even a crappier stuff next time around.

Well, guess I don't have to lecture you about morality and responsibility anymore, because you are just satisfied with inequality anyway.

some people are too simple to understand whats the problem obviously...

ps3 gets the same game in lower quality without any reason, so that is the thing people complain mostly, unfairness. they pay the same price for the same game but they get lower quality product. its not about scores...

you may not care about trophies but there are people who care about it. while 360 owners get achievements why ps3 owners cant get trophies while they are paying the same price for the same game ?

Real smart words!

To those who cannot understand LegendKnight's words, please imagine that when you go to a restaurant, and your waitress have you wait for 30 minutes before he serves your food, while he serves other customers in 10 minutes. Would you not be angry? In fact, in a lot of restaurants, if such thing happens, if you as a customer received lesser quality treatment, the restaurants would give you a discount on the food.

This is what should happen in gaming. If I, as a developer, made something on a platform that's not up to standards that I set onother platforms, I should sell them cheaper.

Man, why are you guys whining about fallout 3? i play the game offline and i didnt have 1 problem! the game is awesome, but so many people are complaining because of freezing or not having trophies. I mean i dont give a damn about trophies, and my game never froze! Because of these stupid complaints i was indecise on buying this game, but after all its just alot of ps3 fanboys complaining about nothing!Darkest93

It's people like you who would tolerate bad practices in business that got America it is today. Look, when everyone tolerates the bad practices of software developers, they can afford to slack off and don't make good product. When everyone tolerates bad financial practices, you get subprime loan issue.

[QUOTE="campbell1874"]I think its terrible when developers put in extra time and money in to make DLC then ask you to pay for it. Its just like their are a business.longhorn7

It makes more sense to offer it for free. They lost a potential buyer with me, and I'm sure that I am not alone. In the PC market, developers for years would offer free downloads, new map packs etc... It extended the longetivity of the game, and therefore, more potential sales.

I believe in supporting developers, but not getting raped by them.

as far as i remember in my years of pc gaming anything substantial was release as an expansion pack and was a separate purchase.

Your word, Substaintial explained it all! But those DLC for Bioshock is anything BUT substaintial!

If you have a bit more money, you should check out aperion audio systems. I got myself a 5T series system. Links below. It's seriously the best ban for the buck. If you need something smaller, aperion's 4T series are great, also a lot cheaper.

As for TV, I'd get Samsung 52A650 or something like that.

Because Far Cry 2 doesn't have the hype of GTA4. Pure and simple.

[QUOTE="henry4th"]Yes. But do you honestly think that all the sites that gave out 10 to this game played through the game? Do you honestly think that the reviewers, all played 24 a day 3 days straight in order to write this review?

Writing review to this game is like writing review to MMORPG. Conan's MMORPG was rated very well, but look where it ends now. Lineage 2 was rated pretty bad, but it is still flourishing. See, review of super long/never ending games are bound to be incorrect often times.

emitsu97

Sorry but GTA IV has nowhere near the amount of content as an MMO. Several people have stated they've beaten the game in under 30 hours with lots of putzing around. Less than 30hrs over 3 days is less than 10 hours per day. I know some gamers do that just for fun.

Dude, we are talking about reviewers, who has to work, not all nighters right?

We are talking about reviewers who rate the game.

Uh, because majority of gamers don't understand what goes into reviewing a game.

Reviewers - Facts

Gamers - Opinions

Reviewers - "This game is in a third person perspective, similar to that of Mass Effect"

Gamers - "Wow this game sucks. Why the hell did they make it third person?"

What? From the last time I checked reviews where nothing but opinions aswell.

well, quite frankly, youre half right. I would definitely say that reviewers definitely use facts to create their opinions, much more than a normal game user would, for instance, fallout 3 for the ps3 getting a lower grade by the reviewers because the graphics are visibly inferior and from all the bugs. Those are facts, which in turn made his decision on how he/she liked the game.

You are only half right too, quite frankly. When reviewer uses facts, they have to grade the facts based on opinion. For example, how much does a graphical defficiency would cost a game? That's totally opinion, not facts.

Gamers also use facts, at least lots of gamers do. And poeple don't disagree on facts. They only disagree on how much those facts matters.

To me, if a game animates really bad, stiff, and wooden like, I would not rate the game highly. To Joe Average, that might not be as big of an issue. To Joe American, bad shooting machenics may be the biggest problem, but to Joe Japanese, bad puzzle design or story telling may be a bigger issue.
