So in otherwords massive floding?

br0kenrabbit

If the poles shift, the planet will actually turn upside-down. Our atmosphere, however, will keep moving in the same direction it is now. So, multi-hundred mile-an-hour winds and Earthquakes and such until the planet resettles. Probably Earthquakes and tectonic activity for a while after that as well, if not another 'pangea-shift' where the continents completely re-arrange.

Oh like that movie The Day After Tomorrow? Hm... well that's unfortunate..

I used to watch the screen savers all the time with leo laporte and later kevin rose. They used to be about computers and games.. now they show cheaters, star trek and bad boys bad boys whatcha gonna do whatcha gonna do when they come for you. Now gamespot is starting to change too. This isn't good for hardcore gamers and techies..

I used to, 6 or 7 years ago, when dalnet dominated IRC. Then there was the big dalnet crash of '03 (I don't exactly remember when), then it went downhill from there. Then /me stopped going. Those were the good ol days.

I go to UC Irvine and from what I've seen it's fairly popular among college students.  In a lecture hall of about 450 students, I'd say about 30% would have a DS and 10% would have it with them at that time...flicking away.. Anyway, I can't speak for the whole city because I live in LA and it is huge.. but I can say among college students living in Irvine, it is quite popular.

[QUOTE="gamerchris810"][QUOTE="foggy666"]

the first game i have ever played on a pc was this little 2d ski game.

the view is from above and you go down the hill avoiding trees and doing tricks, and eventually a yeti eats you

i remember playing that game at school recently! cant remember where tho..

Oh yea I remember that game. I stilll probably have a copy of it. Anyway, I believe the first game I've ever played was... lion king for the MS-DOS..., way back in the dinosaur days. You play as Simba and you run around the jungle and then eventually you grow up. It was something like that.

There's also this one game for dos that I vaguely remember... I don't remember if this game came out before or after lion king but hm.. you play as this red coin with legs and arms and you collect coins I think, I believe it was a mascot for 7-up at one point?? Does anyone remember playing this game?? I don't remember my childhood anymore.. everything is hazy..

I still say the Sims is the best PC game.  It stole my adolescent years from me...

Im guessing you have an interest in an ancient civ RTS? Otherwise, i'd heavily recommend Company of Heroes over both of them.

Still, if its just between the two, i liked Rise of Nations more. Age of Mythology seems a bit more popular online, but i felt it lacked variety. Still felt like Age of Empires 2 with subtle improvements and better graphics. Same reason why i disliked Age of Empires 3. Felt like 8 year-old gameplay wrapped in a shiny coat.

Rise of Nations is a bit ugly, but i find it feels alot more fresh even when compared to other RTS games today.

You're right, I do like ancient civ, more specifically greek civ, and I do like RTS. I haven't played Age of Empires 3 though, not that I want to because I heard it doesn't compare to the previous AoE's. I have C&C: Zero Hour, is that like Company of Heroes?

I can get both but I just want one at the moment. Besides I don't have much free time, so I'd rather play the "better" game.
