[QUOTE="XenoNinja"]The only thing PC gaming will be owning in 1 or 2 more years is a certicate confirming it's extinctionjaisimar_chelse

some one with the wii says this

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Woah woah woah. He may have made a stupid comment, but what does the Wii have to do with it? It's kicking the crap out of it's competitors in the console market sales wise and that considering Ninty barely broke stride when the GC sold like a cold block of crap, I would say the Wii has secured the big N's place in the Next generation.

With that being said, this is a nice lineup. According to Wiki, Dragon Age is coming in 09 and what I REALLY want info on is RPB from Piranha Bytes.

I don't get why it's so hard to understand that going by an average of a metric crapton of professional review sites (Which is arguably more accurate than one single site), PS3 does't have any AAAes....it's a simple concept. Seems to me like a bunch of damage control, why don't you just accept it and wait for MGS4?

This is system wars for christ sake, it has no bearing on the real world, so the "I buy the games I enjoy" argument is kinda pointless. This is like a game in itself, and right now, the ps3 is loosing.

We shall see.

At this point, I'm going to wing it, however, if this goes down the latrine, by last hopes for a decent RPG lie with Bioware's Dragon Age and what ever Piranha Bytes have up their sleeve. Though Dragon Age isn't slated till 09 and we have no info on RPB.

None of the consoles are 'hardcore' (God I hate that word). They are all casual, that's the point of consoles.

All consoles are gimped when it comes to RPGs. Theres just to much of an AWESOME backlog of RPGs on PC to even have to consoles compete.

I would suggest starting at the older generations of games, if you wish to become a true collector. The games of the last two generations will further decline in value (For the most part, there are exceptions. Sympathy of the night is a hard game to find in it's original, non-platinum form, at least here in NZ it is). Also, bare in mind that it's not always the 'good' games you should look for. Any collector worth there salt will have a share of **** games, after all, they are part of gaming history as much as the classics.

Temple of Elemental Evil is the closest thing to true ad&d 2e rules you can find in a main stream video game (Provided you want a game that can be enjoyed post-character creation). If you want indepth character creation, that's ya game.

Other than that, any of the PC Isometric RPGs from the BlackIsle days will outdo anything else you find. Of course you could do it properlly and get some core rulebooks and create your own, or find the Wizards offical Character Creator tool (3e is the best).

Basically, get a PC.

That depends. Oblivion, Mass Effect etc......No...

However, I've played throught BG/BGII more times than I can count. It really depends on the calibre of the game.

Wii: For people that enjoy playing games in a new way, and/or enjoy the outstanding 1st party games that grace every Ninty console.

360: People who like shooters or want to play PCish games without having to be computer literate.

PS3: well.....yea.

PC: For those who are truly passionate about games with depth and story. I've yet to play a console game that comes close the great RPGs of the PC.
