If true I guess this confirms that PS4.5 won't be using AMD's new Polaris architecture. It would have bigger gains if they used Polaris.

dno, can they dig more than double the power out of old AMD chips w/o going up on power consumption/heat?

4K tv's already upscale btw, but glad to see people get overly hyped about ps4k potentially doing it

I doubt its main appeal is it having a quality scaler. It's being made because of PSVR and perhaps to compete with XB1.5 and NX.

Nah, just some people getting excited over it on that gaf thread

@JangoWuzHere: I haven't personally tested it so I can't say much about it, just saw some discussion about it on gaf

There's currently Beta out for this:

This still isn't good. I'd rather have all my games on Steam instead of having to manage yet another game client and store front.

I like how this is going to support the PSVR, remember Sony proudly saying there's already over 38million PSVR ready devices on customers?

I can't believe they currently don't seem to be planning a trade in discount. I'd understand that they are still talking about it, but saying they have no plan is rediculous.

It's not a new generation, these systems play the same games, if you have a PS4, getting this PS4K will make the old one redundant. Thus you need to sell it or trade it in. Haven't all the mid-gen model refreshes in the past use a trade in deal to entice customers?

Them selling consoles at a loss is thing from the past, allowing trading in would be doing the same thing

Could they squeeze in SATA-3 support?
