I would like to get a gaming PC but I am fearful to build one as never done it before. Think I will wait on actual specs for NX and will prolly get that...if at least a few third parties jump onboard.

It might be a bit intimidating but rewarding experience for the first time, but it has gotten a lot easier over the years, heck even watercooling has super simple solutions these days.

I love my current PS4, so I don't see a reason to buy another PS4 version unless it's really mandatory. I don't need to upgrade my PC anytime soon, it's Oculus Rift ready, so that leads to: buy a NX if Nintendo can WOW me at E3 2016.

I don't like my gtx970 much, shit's weak so an upgrade is what i plan on doing with the next Nvidia or AMD series. But it also depends what kind of power we'll be getting with PS4K. Being able to play 4k movies and gain 5fps in games isn't the kind of shit i'd consider an actual upgrade.

About that GTX 970, the GTX 970 was released saying that it was better than it really was. My 970's box clearly states that it should have better performance than it really does. I bought the GTX 970 for the specs on the box before people figured out that it was not correct. It isn't a bad card - I love it, but when there's a better card at similar prices that doesn't lie on the box I will always say to get the 390 instead.

the 970 vs 390 is highly up to debate and depends if you play on 1080p or want to push higher. 970 has a lot headroom for OC can push to the levels of 980 while still packing a lot less heat and requiring a lot less power than the 390, but AMD has shown to have the lead in DX12 games atm thanks to async compute

I'll upgrade my cpu+mobo+rams with new stuff, not sure if I'll swap my 980ti out quite yet, as for consoles I can't say yet as not enough info has been given. Most likely no VR at least this year

@navyguy21: Different levels of assets? most likely all of em. And this talk about UC4 shadows it was just a speculation and as pointed out it might just be a thing with UE4 as well

Every single game out there at least render some passes of their final buffer at below native res, especially shadows and particles, but as long as the base geometry/opaque pass is rendered at native 1080p, it is considered a true 1080p game.

You can't spin this lems, if UC4 is doing frame reconstruction with its geometry pass then it would saved TONS of resources and making the single player 60fps.

I think this just means the consoles this gen are weak so we cant really debate what full 1080p resolution is anymore.

For example, if the geometry is 1080p and all other effects are 900/720p, what does that make it?

If geometry is 900p but everything else 1080p, what does that make it?

If everything is 720p but geometry is 1080p?

Its a hard thing to nail down. We just need new consoles, period.

this wouldn't change with new consoles, different level of details will still be used

  • Deus Ex
  • Even tiny teasers of Mass Effect.
  • Scalebound
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance + Mount & Blade Bannerlords etc "smaller" stuff

Expecting to see:

  • Nintendo NX
  • VR
  • more VR
  • Persona 5 2017 announcement
  • Nothing concrete about The Last Guardian

Chill out, dude. Explain why game has blurry IQ and image is soft? I smell some upscaling here.

Didn't I already explain it? The more change there is between the frames used for the reconstruction the harder it comes to estimate the the pixels that need to be filled. This is why it looks the best when there is little to no movement and worst when stuff changes quickly. The difference between reconstruction and normal upscaling(even here are different ways how its done f.e the quality varies from 4k tv to another) is how those "blanks" from full 1080p image are filled. In standard upscale this comes from interpolation(inferring new data by extracting from known elements) algorithm, and tells pixels what to do based on what those surrounding it are displaying, and then duplicating them. In the case of partial reconstruction those blanks are filled by using the data of former frames to guesstimate what those pixels should be and this obviously becomes progressively harder as the frames differ more from each other. I have never claimed this produces an image equal to a native 1080p image, but it makes it look better than standard 720p image "upscaled" to 1080p.

Do you get what I'm after? As ridiculous as it is to call it 1080p game it's not exactly justified to call it 720p either. And mind you I don't exactly have an agenda to protect here as I don't even own an xbone and I'm getting this on PC where I'll be playing it on native 1440p

Apparently this game has some issues if you have your monitor set to a refresh rate higher than 60hz

What kind of issues?

i guess it's just one issue. The frame rate apparently isn't capped at 60, so it will go up to whatever the monitor allows which causes everything to move really fast and be unplayable.

This can't be something global, I've looked at the user reviews and seen nothing like this.

I can test that once I get home

Oh god the Uncharted Tree is back.

If I mistook System Wars for real life I'd be certain Uncharted was a game about holding a tree at gunpoint.

"that" tree on Uncharted and "those" rocks on Crysis will never be forgotten
