That mod of Star Wars Battlefront was close to this.

i wouldn't be surprised if we get games with such graphics in like 3-4 years.

ye it was quite impressive and here's the reminder!

Sharpening effects are milestones now?

Take it however you want, that's still quite impressive. Give that on VR and I might buy Vive

Quoting AMD

“We have started a new design this quarter that we believe expands our base for the semi-custom business and we are very pleased with that,” said Lisa Su, chief executive officer of Advanced Micro Devices, during the company’s earnings conference call with investors and financial analysts. “The base semi-custom business is around the game consoles.”

AMD announced two new semi-custom SoC design wins back in October, 2014. Both chips will integrate AMD Radeon graphics, one will be based on ARM architecture, another one will feature x86 general-purpose cores. One of the APUs is projected to power a “beyond gaming device”. Details about another have never been disclosed, but it is possible that it is a SoC for a gaming device. The two semi-custom system-on-chips are projected to bring the company combined total lifetime revenue of approximately $1 billion over approximately three years starting 2016.

AMD's ARM+GCN SoC = Nintendo NX

AMD's X86+GCN SoC = ????? Sony ???? PS4K? VR ???

I think that's how it is, ARM+GCN SoC is definitely the NX and X86+GCN SoC could be powering both the next xbone whatever and ps4k

Too bad Windows Store apparently doesn't support pre-loads? Hope they have capable file servers available so I can play it when I get home from work

Does Windows Store support ANYTHING other than the ability to take money from your credit card?

Well at least it saves me the price of xbox one and having to deal with 30fps + you can most likely do the region change and get the game for much cheaper

I will never be spared the price of the consoles, even when the X1 and PS4 have more and more games coming to PC. I just prefer gaming on console, and I have accepted the fact that PC will have better fps, better res, more games, less expensive games, free online and better upgrade options than my PS4/X1. That said, I still have a solid PC gaming rig for games that are not on console. I like ARMA, iRacing, WOW, and other games too that are only on PC. I do have it setup in the most console like experience though with an X1 elite controller, large TV, full screen view. To each their own though. The important thing is that this is a hobby that we love and enjoy.

I had originally planned on buying xbox one this year mainly for quantum break + scalebound but now that those are going to pc(tho is scalebound sure thing yet) I dont feel like I need one as I'm not really fan of halo and the last gears I own is gears 1. But I don't look down on any1 having an Xbox One, it's still a good console and many of my friends have it.

The CU units are disabled for a reason as not every chip in the ps4's is "perfect". Say AMD manufactures new chips used in Fury X, the imperfect ones from the production get used in lower end models

@tormentos: Aren't most console gamers still at 360/ps3? But yes obviously top of the line PC's make a very small % of total PC's

With that said, honestly the idea of PS4k is a scary proposition for the PC fanboy propaganda machine knowing that a great majority of PC gamers don't have hardware that's vastly more powerful than what PS4 is pushing now.

All the claims of 1080p @ 60fps at high to ultra settings that PC gamers make a big deal about to gloat over consoles could potentially be 100% realized for all PS4k users across the board. The "PC is always best" line would be severely blurred and challenged as an insignificant amount of PC gamers could claim to have hardware to substantially out performed these new consoles.

Yes especially if the PS4K comes out sporting Polaris GPU it would be stronger then good chunk of real gaming pc's as it could potentially stand on 970 level and it would indeed be able to run current AAA titles on ultra at 60fps
