Most definitely. Games were made with higher quality back then, rather than just slapping advanced graphics on them like they do now-a-days.

"Overrated" is improperly used the majority of the time, and something that is called overrated by only a few individuals will most likely be unanimously defended by the foolish masses...even if it is. Want to know what's overrated in the video game industry? Almost everything!

Think about this: Chess has been around for hundreds of years and will continue to be played for hundreds more. Chess is known for being a thinking man's game. It's clearly superior to every single video game ever made, except for MAYBE Tetris, yet system wars alone would defend hundreds of inferior titles. I rest my case.

wut!? no wai!

Illmatic >>>> Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous

That album stumbles from time to time but Illmatic is straight owngae, even One Time 4 Your Mind. It might have a simple beat but you've gotta admit the loop is a pretty interesting one and Nas kills it anyway.

"but I'm a lamp coz the crime couldn't beat the rhyme, ninjas catchin' three to nine's, muslisms yelling free the mind"

bradleybhoy

Well, I'm not easily offended...that's why I can prefer Lifestylez. Plus, the only thing better about Illmatic is the Pete Rock & Premiere production.

BTW Memory Lane is one of the top beats Premiere ever made and I love that song too. I guess I half assed the listing. I should've just said the songs that aren't gems are One Love & One Time For Your Mind. The World Is Yours was good, I dunno if I'd call it a classic song though.

My fault...I thought I listed NY State Of Mind. Just add that to the list.

It's a great album but still not the best ever. Compare it to Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous by Big L. Lifestylez has 3(I think) more tracks and still maintains a higher overall quality IMO. Halftime, Represent, It Ain't Hard To Tell, and Life's A B are definitely the shining stars on Illmatic.

Best:Big Daddy Kane.

Worst:Q-Tip.

Listen to Come On Down w/ both of them.

BTW, Lil Wayne doesn't count because he's a talking garbage can, not a rapper.
