I don't have 1k to spend right now(finishing up my student loans), I mostly play FPS games (COD,Counter strike,TF2,etc).

Can I keep the Q8300 a with a current gen PSU and a new GPU on my current setup? If so which would you recommend? (ordering from newegg)

I currently have a HP desktop with a intel Q8300 @ 2.5ghz, 8gb of ram and an ati 4650 1gb from XFX.

I asked on my upgrades a while back but it seems LGA 775 has been left behind so I've been thinking about building a new (well my first) rig.

Any tips for parts? It can be either intel or amd when it comes to the cpu, my budget is roughly $400-$500.

Parts that I own:

-Cheap HP case(not sure if I can use it with new mobo)

-Sata CD/DVD burner

-Sealed WD 500gb 3.5 hard drive

-19 dell LCD.

I would need

-Case

-Mobo

-CPU

-Ram

-PSU

-GPU( thinking on holding on to the 4650 if I cant find anything within the budget at the time)

Thanks guys :D

The 360 controller is great for supported games(Need for speed hot persuit, L4D, BOPS(only BOPS!), but for the MW series its useless, it wont recognize it unless I use a third party program!

I don't have a problem with a keyboard and mouse but the problem is that I don't have a wireless one now and I can't really play from the couch, also my kid likes to play and hates the keyboard and mouse since hes used to his friends console version.

Also, I read something about using a dedicated PC controller instead of a console controller. The article said that a dedicated pc controller should work better for FPS games, is this true? I was thinking of picking up a logitech dual action controller to see if it helps.

The thing is that the MW series of cod games dont have native support, the only thing I've found is xpadder but its a pain in the ass to aim accurately compared to the xbox and ps3 versions of the game.

I'm still tinkering with xpadder's sensitivity settings to see what I can do about this.

Hey guys :D

So I'm using my PC wth my 47 inch sony tv and my wireless keyboard & mouse stopped working

Is there anyway to get the xbox 360 controller working similar to the default settings on the console version of the game? I'm using xpadder but the sticks are a bit clunky when moving( no where near the xbox 360 sensitivity when aiming) all of the other buttons work perfectly :)
