Right now, its Intel Q8300 @ 2.5ghz(stock), 8gb of ram(stock), XFX ATI 4650 1gb DDR2(upgraded,got it as a gift a year ago), 300w psu stock. runs BC2,MW3, BOPS and LF4D2 on almost max settings.

My rig uses LGA 775, so there are not many CPU options available, I was thinking of upgrading the graphics card and psu and keeping it for another year since I'm tight on money ($250-$300 is the most I can spend). Also, I can't overclock since my mobo is locked due to being from HP.

Or end up building a whole new system from scratch saving $$$ of parts I already have like a case, cd drive, etc.

What do you guys think?

I will be ordering the parts from newegg.

I'm a bit right on money right now but I will be getting another GPU and PSU by christmas. My phone was stolen on friday and I'm flat broke :/

My socket is LGA 775, is there a CPU worth upgrading to? most of the new stuff requires a diff mobo with the appropriate socket. Also can you guys provide me with mroe details on purchasing a bios?

TThanks for the tips!

I recently started to get back to steam on my PC

My computer specs are 8gb of ram, 1gb XFX ATI 4650, Intel core2quad Q8300 2.5ghz, 300w PSU (HP desktop running win7)

It runs most of my games decently, but what else can I do to make it an even better experience?(tweaks, software, etc?)

Right now I'm defragging the hard drive and uninstalling all the programs I don't use.

Well a few weeks ago my netgear WNR1000 started dropping wireless conectivity and I returned it(gotta love squaretrade warranties, netgear support didint even offer help because 90 days passed and they were asking me to write them an email about it...)

anyways I have no router atm and I need one before thursday(My dad begins to work from home again)

There are a few choices at the local store(posting newegg links)

Apple Airport Extreme(I hear it has probs with the xbox 360, have they been fixed?)

D-link DIR 628 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127254

D-link DIR 615 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127241

There are a few netgear routers but I really hate their support and linksys is crap ever since they started making routers that look like spaceships...

Not many good routers as the orginal WRT54G these days.

on another note my neighbor has a d-link DIR 624 since 2006(I think really dont know how old but 4years+ for sure) and its still going strong giving me Internet whenever I need

[QUOTE="iShiny"]

Insidemy deskmore of the insideI wouldnt call this a rig but its what I could afford recently to start on with PC gaming

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @2.5ghz

8GB DDR3 PC3-10700 667MHZ ram

750GB Seagate cuda

Stock HP case :P mouse and keyboard

XFX ATI Radeon 4650 1gbDDR2 128BIT Video card (runs mw2 on high settings and dragon age origins

300w PSU(yes its stock but I'm out of cash right now and I can't afford to upgrade; ;)

Vizio 19' LCD TV as TV/monitor

Here are pics

gmaster456

Good specs for a prebuilt with that PSU out of curiosity how much to this cost you? 7/10

the prebuilt costed $550 w/o monitor or gpu(kinda expensive I know but I needed a desktop ASAP for a proyect since my old one had a bad psu which friend the whole thing)

4650 costed me $100 because I'm in Puerto Rico, its around 60-70bucks in CONUS but with shipping from newegg it would have costed me the same

I just upgraded the psu, a friend gave me a ThermalTake 430w TR2 PSU for my birthday so now it isnt THAT crappy

Thanks for the rating, btw I'm amazed I'm running mw2 on high settings with x2 AA without hiccupos :)

bump, sorry I had another question

do I need to remove my mobo to mount the fan?

if so, I'm trying to look for one that snaps in or something

and can I use my stock one?I mean keep the heatsink and replace the fan on top of it?
