Gaming is very much a guys pass time. Most girls don't 'get' gaming.

Of course things are changing with the Wii, etc. But I think most people on here would agree with me that these aren't proper games :P

Hm, ok sounds like its a hardware fault then. Ive sent it off to (hopefully) be repaired. Which could take upto 28days, joy. Thanks for all your input.

It has a fan (albeit one that sounds like a mouse coughing). I'm gonna try the suggestion of getting a laptop cooler. If that doesnt work ill send it off for repair. I just wanted to avoid that at all costs. Haven't heard many good things about Acers repair service.

Edit: Oh, also I installed riva tuner, but it opens all the info as read only, so can't change any of the settings.

Maybe there is a sleep setting on the monitor? Also have you checked all the cables from your pc to monitor are securely attached?

Are you running a 64 bit OS? If not adding more RAM won't do anything 32bit supports upto 3GB.

I have acne on my face and im almost 20. Thought I would have grown out of it by now.. obviously not.

The worst thing is, its cystic acne, so can be quite painfull. In terms of scars, it has left some, but I think they normally fade after about a year (pseudo-scars). It doesnt really effect my confidence when im around friends, but I guess it does when meeting new people (especially women!).

Went to the doctors today for the first time about it. She gave me some anti biotics called Oxytetracycline and this stuff called Differin Gel. So yeah, hopefully that will work... Don't won't to go down the Rocutane route, due to horror stories about the side effects. Fingers crossed anyway!

I have a 9600M GT card in my laptop. It idles at around 60 - 65C.

However when doing anything graphically intensive (gaming) it reaches temperatures of upto 97C ! My framerates will then be drastically reduced while the card attempts to cool itself down, one its cooled my frame rates will go back to normall. This just carries on in cycles.

I have tried changing all the settings in my games (TF2 mostly) to low, but it doesn't make any difference and still reaches 97C it just takes longer.

Now this card should be perfectly capable of running TF2 is high settings.

So does anyone know the idle / load temps for this card? What do we reckon, hardware fault?

Can't answer the question really since I don't have the latest expansion. Stopped playing after TBC. I don't know it just got boring to me, I guess if you do anything long enough it will get boring.

I would like to see a virtual reality console.DecadesOfGaming
.. Yeah, they should hurry up and finish making the Matrix :D Anyway, I think consoles should have long lifespans, as it gives game developers a chance to create good stuff for the system. I agree with new consoles as long as it provides benefit and not just some useless marketing ploy (DSi?).
