I suppose it comes from seeing gaming as just that ... gaming. Personally I prefer the PS3. Why? Because my favourite games are coming to the PS3 (MGS series, GoW, GT and it would appear Motorstorm is up my alley) and because the PS2 served my purposes without a single problem.

Does it matter to me who "wins" the console wars? No. Do I have an interest in the companies? No. Will I stand to make or lose money if either company gains/loses market share? No, all I want is a console where I can play good games that I like. Thats it. As such I really don't understand the people who always have to praise or bash a specific console. Why are some people so obsessed over the console of their choice (be it 360, Wii or PS3)? Why do they always have to be so defensive/offensive? It's just a gaming console, all this bitterness detracts from what gaming is supposed to be ... fun. They really need a reality check and realise it's so completely unimportant. If only these extremist morons could turn their obsession into something that actually matters like preventing murders and/or rapes, stopping climate change, preventing animal cruelty etc. It's beyond be why some people seem to be so wrapped up in this insignificant "console war", my only conculsion I've been able to come up with is they're still kids living at home under mommies and daddies wings who have no idea what it's like in the real world and can therefore spend so much time and effort on something so unimportant.

No, that's just supid. Because I rpefer the PS3 does that mean I must believe Sony is a perfect company with a  perfect product and MS/Ninty is teh evil? No, thats just as stupid. People need to grow up and get a reality check.

But thats just my view.

I think the media feeds the masse BUT the masses only "eat" what the like. So basically if there wasn't a market for this BS then the BS wouldn't exist as they wouldn't get hits for it. It's driven by demand, by the market.

A case in point (kinda similar) was the Princess Diana death. Think on this, she dies in a car crash running from papparazzi. Why was she in a car running from them? Because she was the most photographed woman in the world. Why? Because there weas such a huge demand for more photo's of her, more news on her, more information, so the press hounded her. And who did all her fans blame for her death? The papparazzi. But surely if the market was not there she wouldn't have been hounded and therefore would have been in the car running in the first place? So in the end were the people who were REALLY guilty of killing her not the people who obsessed over her and constantly wanted the latest news/photo's/information? Because surely if there was no demand the situation would have been avoided?

So basically I'm saying without demand the media wouldn't publish these stories. They want ratings (or hits on the net). They know controversy causes this (look at the recent UK CBB thing where viewers almost tripled after the racism row). So if there was no market the media wouldn't provide it, their stories are driven by what "we" want and what they know will get them hits/ratings.

 I found this comparison from Resistance.  It was actually captured by someone else, but it looks about right to me, since I've played the game in both sd and hd.
