[QUOTE="NavigatorsGhost"]I've got my ps3 hooked up to a regular sd tv through a regular a/v cable. Can I watch Talledega Nights - Blue Ray using this setup or do I need an HDtv or at least component a/v cable?toyoarmy
If Talledega Nights is Copy-Protected, No you can't.
(Copy-protected Blu-ray video discs can only ouput at 1080p using an HDMI cable connnected to a device that is compatible with the HDCP standard.)

Actually you can watch it just in 480p not 1080p.so do you think the ps3 will still look super good and amazing n the one i said first or not.slayer423It should look great , I was just stating the facts about that TV. It will look good, Its an 1080i HDTV and even if you get one with some geomatry issue you probably wouldn't notice anyway unless u were real anal about it. Samsung makes good Tvs and go for it if thats all u can get.
i saw this hdtv earlier on samsung and i went to an online retalier and frys electronics are selling it for 299.99. im planning on buying it for the ps3 but i want to know what is the catch becuase for a thirty inch television i expected it to be more expensive. do i have to buy other accesories with it, does it play 1080i or what. someone please ehlpThat TV is 2 series old and I heard it had some geomatry issues. The same goes for the 3080 line as well, but the new one the 3082 line great for the price if you want a good quick fix of HD glory.

Thats a real good article, very informative.I've been saying this for a long time, but here is a pretty good article on why 1080p is not worth the price increase over 1080i TVs, especially at screen sizes smaller than 50 inches.

As the article points out, the more important factors to consider are contrast ratio and color reproduction. Don't buy into Sony's (as well as Sharp's and Samsung's) crap about 1080p being "Full" or "True" HD. 720p and 1080i is HD also.
