@ltjohnnyrico: Alright, tell your overlords to set the new game prices at $90. See how consumers respond with preorders and sales without significant price drops months later, see how the market responds, and see how the stocks get affected. Then the board members of these big AAA devs can say what you have been in their emergency meetings.
@ltjohnnyrico: I don't need to google to know about inflation, which was learned from common sense observation/ extrapolation and an economics course from a Top 25 university degree, yet you don't seem to know about the value proposition and the inherent value which has remained the same throughout the years. $90 for an avg 10 hour linear experience, LOL. Should get your back checked out from all that bending over.
The cost of living and food etc has risen too, so might want to consider that people don't have as much disposable income as you believe. Also the fact that games back then were a newer technology and were harder to develop without tools already in place. Nowadays, most games are copy/ paste and multiple developers use the same baseline engine (industry wide ones like Unreal) with tools ready at their disposal.
I've never bought loot crates (not capitalized) or MTC's, only some DLC which was earned because it was more like an expansion.
@ltjohnnyrico: Nah, it's cancerous fools with more money than sense like you that those practices proliferated and succeeded in the first place. Now you want to pay them 150% off the bat because you believe the AAA's when they say they don't make enough, as if revenue reports show otherwise and capitalistic greed isn't the issue here, in a comparatively purer industry being run by execs from older (read: more corrupt) fields and corporations applying those manipulative business tactics. But you still sound like a shill/ industry apologist/ consumer pushover.
@leandrombraz: Realistic in the sense of the RPG gameplay elements with the stats affecting outcome, even if the result doesn't show that design like the video above. Like needing a line of sight, guns with different damage etc. Do try not to cherry-pick examples.
@gamingdevil800: LOL! Holy... This is 1 reason I couldn't get into this series. So unrealistic when it clashes directly with all the realism they're going for.
@sikho: ROFL. Leto was but a pale imitation who tried to look tough but couldn't actually pull the character off because he doesn't have a quarter of Ledger's chops.
