I like the innovation in pong. Modern video games would not have existed without it.keybladegamer
I thought I was gonna be funny and say the "power pad" for Nintendo was a mind-blowing innovation, and then someone beats me to the punch with this golden treasure. Wow. Although, Nintendo also made such awesome gimmicks as the "power glove" and the "gyro"...they didn't last long. I think possibly the most powerful innovation has to be the merging of console gaming with the online community. PC's had it for years before consoles, and now look at how consoles can do just about anything. I remember when Halo first became available online, and I think the gaming community sat back and nearly pooped in their trousers, because so many people could now share the experience of being stuck playing the same game and same maps for hours because now the opponents would constantly change levels of skill. It was the easiest way to change the game without actually changing the game.

I think I am cursed for bad endings. First Mafia II the game---a WTF ending if there ever was. So now I try movies--Skyline--yet another WTF ending. I am glad I didn't pay $60 for a brand new game or $15 to see that movie in theaters. I would have been very pissed had I pissed away so much money....Dracula68
Skyline was pretty much dog crap in a basket. I made a bet with someone, and, because they lost, I made them watch it back-to-back.

I think as most "gamers" get older (i.e. myself) we replace a lot of games with sports or film or tv, and we try to put there ideas into what we want in a game. I know I do. I don't play video games nearly as much as I did when I was in my teens and early twenties, but now when I do play it's all about sports games or a mind-numbing action shooter (just to take out the aggression). I'm not as interested in RPG's or long-winded Rockstar games that have 5 minute cutaways...I have fallen asleep during some of those speeches from GTA series...ha ha. My favorite game of all time is still FInal Fantasy VII (yeah, I'm old), but I could never spend that much time on a game ever again. Now, I am content to just sit and play FIFA or NBA Live or Tiger Woods golf. Any other late-20's/30-plussers do the same?
