When Karl Pilkington gets on a "serious" thought, there is absolutely nothing funnier in the world. It's almost impossible to decipher the real meaning behind it, but sometimes it's genius...other times it is borderline retarded. Ha ha. He should be knighted. Sir Karl Pilkington. Nice ring.

Well, if you are actually doing a show, then you have to pay for the rights to the song if it is already copywritten. If it's not in your budget, then I suggest finding someone to write an opening or trying something yourself. Local bands generally have no copyrights, and you could ask one if they could contribute. That is, if this is a SERIOUS project. Otherwise, pick whatever you want. The more popular the band, the more money they will ask for the rights.

I just hope whoever or whatever it is, they don't play a stupid medley. I hate medleys. Just play one song, then another...is that so hard?

This is such a hard one, but, for the slighter older crowd who can remember the man, I would definitely party with Andrew W.K. That's his whole thing in a nutshell. I actually just saw him on Fuel TV the other day. Not really sure what he was doing on there, but that guy is awesome!

"When it's time to party, we will party hard!"

I think everyone is 100% right in this thread. Just read all the comments and think, "Is this person right?" And the answer will be yes.

I would do it for 5 grand. Probably less if all the props and set up were provided.

[QUOTE="isaackuhlman"]

I actually am a film critic. However, I don't get paid to make crappy films seem better, so I will just tell you how it is. The fact that you felt the need to tell me that Hobo w/a Shotgun was based on the trailer, seems redundant. If I took the time to watch it and expect it to be an awesome movie from what I heard from colleagues and friends, then I would be stupid not to have any idea of what it came from or why I wanted to see it. The fact is the movie had terrible acting, horrible sets, horrible costumes, took a million-dollar budget and made a 10,000-dollar film, had crap props (organs bouncing across the ground like basketballs), and had terrible writing not to mention based on a dumb story, then what do you want me to say about it? Sorry, here's what I should say, "Because the director took his producer's money and pocketed 900,000 to make a dumb movie but said 'THAT'S HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE...IT'S GENIUS.', makes this movie awesome somehow." No, fact is the movie was crap. I'm not friends with the director, so I can't say that it was good because I feel bad that is wasn't. It was just a dumb movie. I look forward to the indie slashers and zombie movies a lot. This one just sucked. Sorry.

MrGeezer

Two things I have to point out here.

1) You seem to be implying that the critics who gave the movie good reviews were essentially bribed into saying that it was good.

2) You're explicitly stating that the director personally stole almost all of the money that was supposed to be put towards the film's budget.

Now, I'm not saying that those accusations are false. But if true, those are the kinds of statements that you REALLY ought to back up with some kind of proof.

I was saying that based on the quality of the film-making, that's what I assumed he did with the rest of the budget. Ha ha. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously. And the critics who gave it good reviews were the ones who were sitting through a film festival and got this movie as a "breath of fresh air" type movie. Meaning, yeah, it didn't take itself seriously. It still wasn't good though.

BUMP!!! ha ha

All witty banter aside, this actually will be big for both the UFC and Fox. The fighters will also earn considerably more money, and the sport of MMA will become much more mainstream. I think the biggest winner here is the FX channel which will be hosting a lot of the non-"numbered events" on their channel. FX is killing cable channels with their lineup already and this will make them even bigger. Shows like Always Sunny..., The League, Wilfred, Louie, Sons of Anarchy, etc...jeez. That's a channel everyone needs to get now. And, no, I'm actually not a huge proponent of FOX, but they seem to be making smart deals lately. Unfortunately, they are a bunch of ultra-conservatists at the top, but that's their ideology. I try to not pay attention to their shenanigans.

I am still confused as to why fast food companies need mascots. It's not like eating there makes you part of the team. And you rarely see any kind of merchandise come from them. Just seemed like a waste of time.
