I hope its not as easy as jade empire (biowares last game) was. after blue dragon and currently eternal sonata, i could use a more challenging rpg

jigglebilly1983

It will be as difficult as getting two very attractive women to have a threesome with you. On the highest difficulty level it would be as hard as having two women but one is an alien, however. Seeing as there have been no official sightings of aliens yet Mass Effect will be unbeatable at its highest difficulty.

nope, thats probably south peaks saving grace they are at least patching two worlds which is very gothic 3 like ^_^ not even mods saved the bugs in gothic 3.

FrozenLiquid

Two World.. ugh. Great environmental visual... that's about it.

Hmm... I was thinking of trying out Two Worlds.

Is the demo worth a download? Or is it not a fair representation of the final game?

[QUOTE="nicenator"]Im glad im not the only cow here who can actually admit the 360 has strong points. Good all cows who can admit things like this :)GARRYTH
i wish i could make sheep and lemmings add mit something looks good on the ps 3 even though it is not on the system.

I think Heavenly Sword looks great... though I don't like the overdone hair ;)

Dunno if I'm a lemming though... I got the X360 because when I compared the library for the X360 and PS3 I preferred the X360 and I could only buy one.

It has the better all around library than either the Wii or the PS3 at this point. No it's best games aren't exclusive, but you won't find them on other consoles and if they are on other consoles the 360 is often the best version.

heretrix

Period.

If you haven't seen the latest Mass Effect videos then please do (number 13 in particular).

So far every RPG that has come out on consoles has been a last-gen RPG in a new coat of graphics. Mass Effect seems to take everything to the next level with sound, visuals, digital actors and scope. When BioWare says that this game is their most ambitious so far, eclipsing Baldur's Gate and all their other RPGs (as if BioWare ever made a bad RPG) then I am expecting a complete new standard in RPGs and other devs better step up.

Games like Mass Effect just show that it's the games that make a console shine... not how shiny the console itself is.

bad82man82

So they're refining the KOTOR system...prettier graphic, etc. I see nothing redefining about Mass Effect. Other than having a huge amount of replay value behind it.

So just because ME is in space it's like KOTOR? KOTOR is an RPG, ME is an RPG, the likeness ends there. KOTOR is D&D style, ME is not.

Going from a menu to point, click, attack, watch, like KOTOR, you instead are moving a character around shooting things, etc. And once in a while you'll pause to assign character for specific actions. Hrm. Let's put this in perspective. Shotting stuff is found in FPS games. Okay. Pause assigning tactical points. Hrm. I believe that was done in another shooter. Alright. So nothing refining there. Let's look at visuals. Looking good. ButI don't think they're that much higher then what you'd find in either Gears of War or say Bioshock. But it's not all about the graphics right? Music, sound? Matter of opinion and what game. Every game can have a great score of music. From Final Fantasy toKameo. So again, where is it that Mass Effect is going to "refine" the wRPG?

Agreed, the gameplay is weak becauase it is some sort of shooter, creating your character is bad also, but making the choices in interactive dialogue is something new for me, sometimes I say it is good and sometimes I think it will be boring after a while, I don't know, may be I'll give it a try when released, graphics are good, facials expressions are awful, I'll try it, I want to see new things combined with each other, shooter with RPG elements, creating your character and interactive dialogue, it will be new things for me in RPG, but I hope it will turn out to be good.

O.o

Ok, take Vista and Windows XP as an example; visually they are the same but at the sametime they are completely different. Mass Effect isn't throwing in a innovative system everywhere, but what it does with everything makes the difference; side by side KOTOR is a caveman, not just graphically, compared to Mass Effect. This gen was supposed to be an evolution from the last and Mass Effect is truly an evolution of the best from the last gen.

I'd say The Witcher may have a better chance at "defining" something in the RPG genre. I'm still waiting for Baldur's Gate III.foxhound_fox

If it was't BioWare making Mass Effect I might agree. I think BioWare has a larger chance of defining something than an unproven development team.

If they ever make Baldur's Gate III I hope they remove the D&D system. It's crap for games, period. They can keep all the story goodness, character depth and all the things that made BG series good, only thing I want gone is the D&D system for combat.

For western style RPGs, you might be right. It will hardly change Japanese RPG games, or people's liking of such RPGs.

SpruceCaboose

That may be the case.
