Why would you pre order anything in a world of digital content? It just incentivizes broken releases. Jedi Survivor just recently got patched into a smooth and playable condition after five months. That and all the other broken launches over the last few years wouldn't have happened if people refused to buy until the product works properly.

The specifics are so stupid and obviously meant to gouge, no one anywhere is defending this, and they are very clearly abusing the legal system. They'll probably pull it off.

It won't work properly for at least six months after purchase, but they'll patch it eventually.

@mooglestar: Forbidden West...... lordy. I wanted to like that one but man it got tedious. I can't understand how they could have created so much dialog but never realize how bad it was. Sure is pretty though. The game I mean. Aloy looks like she ate shellfish while allergic.

When my five year old pc runs starfield as well as the series X at 4k, it's not the hardware.

@mooglestar: So a question for you. Do you seek out and enjoy a "checklisty" game like assasins creed or is it more of a compulsion? Or do you avoid them so you aren't sucked in for 60+ hours. See I have the exact opposite issue. I skip lots of things, including dialog when it gets excessive, making Bethsda games wear thin pretty quickly. I'm going to have to take a hard run at Badur's Gate 3 and force myself to engage with the actual story. That raises the question of why I bought it and I don't actually have a good answer. I just kind of did.

@YukoAsho: I can only speak for myself but I wouldn't have ever tried this if not for game pass. Honestly I'm enjoying it more than I'm annoyed so far but there's plenty of annoyance. Lots of people have outlined the issues and I'll just agree about a lot of them. Obtuse menus, excessive inventory restrictions/management, blah blah. Basically it's fine but has some big quality of life issues. I don't think a 7 is out of line. But the some of the issues I have are actually expectations of Bethsda fans. The looting for example. I feel like you should just auto pick up credits and ammo you have capacity for automatically but honestly I feel like the fans would have a meltdown.

@mooglestar: oh man, honestly I'm glad I'm not a completionist. Not judging, just saying that devs know how to milk gameply time. Korok seeds? I mean they're useful to a point with upgrades, but 900?!?!?!?! The actual completionist nearly broke down into tears when he learned totk was going to have them too. He just couldn't bear having to find all of them, and couldn't bear not finding them. Godspeed and all, but I think you're being manipulated.
